What happened to Television Without Pity? I have been trying to visit the Television Without pity website periodically for the last month or so and the website has been down each time. Did something happen? Are they gone?
What do you hate the most about the Television Without Pity forums? The thing I hate the most is that, thanks to the the mods' "don't state your opinion as fact" rule, you have posters that either constantly add "IMO" at the end of their sentences (example: "Pam's hair is gorgeous, IMO") or ending every post with "YMMV". I can't decide who I hate more: the "IMO/YMMV" abusers or the mods for scaring people into becoming "IMO/YMMV" abusers
Television Without Pity site down? Does anybody know what's up with Television Without Pity's site (www.televisionwithoutpity.com)? Last night they said they were having issues; today my server tells me the site does not exist.
Why do some people capitalize "Lost" when typing out the show name? I've noticed on various websites (LiveJournal, Television Without Pity, etc.) that when some people talk about the show Lost, they capitalize the show title (ex. I'm going to be so sad when LOST ends.). Is there a reason for this or do they just do it because the show's logo is in all caps?
Where can I find pro-Lois Smallville fandom? All I've been able to find is Television Without Pity, which is so angry and anti-Lois, I get called a troll when I say I like the show and I like Lois. Clearly, I don't belong there, and everyone would be happier if I went and found another corner of the fandom to play in. Problem is, I don't know where it is. Any suggestions?
Why don't frames and images display on some sites since I updated my Firefox? I just updated to Firefox 2.0.0.5 and ever since then a few sites regularly don't display properly - With no frames and in some cases no images either. So far it's only happening on a few sites, like Netscape.com, Foodnetwork.com, "Television Without Pity" and a few others. Before I did the update I didn't have this problem at all. Sites still appear normal in the vast majority of cases. I can't figure out why this is happening and none of the answer sites have helped. It's driving me nuts and I HATE using IE. Can someone help me fix the problem? By the way I have a Dell E520 that's about a year and a half old and I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition. Thanks! Thanks but before the update the sites looked normal so I don't think it's that the sites aren't made to run in Firefox. They always looked OK before. Why should it change? Note: I already have the latest Flash Player so that's not it.
Reality tv message boards? this is more of a statement than a question. The 5 Essential Web Sites? The Onion AV club has listed what it calls the “5 essential web sites.” see: http://www.avclub.com/content/node/45698 What do you think? 1. Television Without Pity (televisionwithoutpity.com) Complete episode recaps are available for dozens of shows, and they're often interspersed with delightfully snarky commentary. 2. Celebrity Nudity Database (cndb.com) There's an ever-changing list of the most popular nude or sorta-nude celebs. 3. All Music Guide (allmusic.com) amazing in its depth, with complete track listings and discographies for a staggering number of albums. 4. Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) Knows it all about almost any movie you can name, from Baby Face (you want the 1933 classic or the 1962 made-for-TV short?) to Star Wars. 5. Wikipedia (wikipedia.org) Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that relies on Joe Q. Public for its entries. This is both good and bad.
Anyone post on TWOP???? How long does it take before you can post on Television without Pity? I registered, got my email, but it said: "The administrator likes to review new accounts." How long will this take?
Why does TWOP say that Bones is on permanent hiatus? I was on the website television without pity and it says that bones is on permanent hiatus. It even says: "It turns out that all the hardcore Angel fans really aren't that interested in watching David Boreanaz pretend to be a former sniper turned FBI agent who works with a forensic anthropologist to solve crime cases. Or it could have been the writing. Or the magnificently ridiculous crime-solving tools. Or the fact that there are eight million other crime procedurals on television, and this one was either too different, or just not different enough. Whatever the reason, no one cared, and you can go ahead and insert your own "Bore-eanaz" joke here." Here's the link:http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/shows/index.php?letter=B I normally like and trust this website. How could they make a huge mistake like that?
How can my parents find my online history? I have cleared my history, deleted my files, and deleted my cookies? Is there still a way for them to find my online history? I am a good kid and I do not do anything bad on the internet. I just have a yahoo email, a Television Without Pity account and previously a MuggleNet Interactive account which I deleted because of guilt. I hate having to lie to my parents. The problem is I have to. My parents say that if I want an email address, they have to have my password and read all my emails. I have very interesting friends right now and they are really going through some hard times. They do questionable thing, but they are my friends, they have my back, they love me, I love them, and I really want to help. And I am really helping them. I have seen them grow. However, if my parent knew who they were and what they have done, it would be the end. I would not be aloud to talk to them. So I have to hide my history. I have cleared my history, deleted my cookies, and deleted my web files. Is there still a way for them to find my online history?
Christmas without a television? I have no television. I hate the things. The drivel that is pumped out is boring and banal. A friend took pity on me and gave me this huge set to watch. I switched it on, saw what rubbish was on over Christmas and promptly passed it on. I can guess what is happening. In the soaps, someone will be murdered/raped/have an affair/an affair will be discovered/Tony Blair will be revealed to be the anti Christ. Morecambe and Wise will be on. The Great Escape. Gordon Ramsey will stuff a turkey. In fact, someone will stuff it right inside the foul mouthed prat. I'm looking forward to a drivel free zone of peace and quiet and a good play on the radio. Anyone else doing the same?
A question about Indian Television serials? I want to know how much the Indian Mega Serials (particularly in Tamil/Teleugu) are useful in your day to day life? I am NOT asking about the "talk shows" but I am asking only about the Serials, which I feel horrible for me without any social message. I feel pity particularly on the ladies who became somewhat ""addicted"" to these serials. Even the office going ladies, who, a decade ago, sharing their family problems, neighbourhood menace, etc with others and used to find a solution, nowadays, discuss amongst them only about these serials, about the costumes, jewellery, etc used by the female actors and discussing what would happen in the next episode etc. It is PERTINENT to mention here that a survey conducted recently in Chennai has revealed that the populace, particularly the ladies addicted to watching these "social dramas" are vulnerable to diabetes, blood pressure, etc and are least bothered to look after their children, about their future, their husband's health care, etc. ONE LADY HAS EVEN FORGOTTEN HER GRAND DAUGHTER'S NAME BUT SHE NARRATTED ALL THE CHARACTERS" NAMES IN A PARTICULAR SERIAL ! ! ! May I know the views of our learned members of Y/A on this aspect??? If anybody has overcome this "addict", they can share their experiences with our other members.
Do you understand the plight of the poor? And if so...do you pity, understand, or condem them. Poverty is not a condition...its a cycle. People who struggle may not have the tools to pass on to their children to succeed, or even to avoid what may be pitfalls to well off or middle class individuals. DO you have any idea how stiffling it must be to only travel through your television? Or to eat fast food..becasue you cant afford the gas bill to cook. Understanding vs. scorn...have you truely tried it without worrying about your tax dollars?
Could Hillary, McCain and Obama learn a thing or two from Red Skelton? Do you remember Red Skelton? I used to watch him as a child and very much enjoyed his program as well as his humor. I remembered this from years ago, It seems to me that our candidates could lean a thing or two from someone who was an old school patriot. What are your opinions, do we need more people like this in our day and age? The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television program as he related the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day. Now, more than ever, listen to the meaning of these words. "I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?" I me, an individual, a committee of one. Pledge dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity. Allegiance my love and my devotion. To the flag our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job! United that means that we have all come together. States individual communities that have united into 48 great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that's love for country. And to the republic a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people. For which it stands, one nation one nation, meaning "so blessed by God" Indivisible incapable of being divided. With liberty which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's own life without threats, fear or some sort of retaliation. And Justice the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others. For all which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine. ***~~**~~***
Where can I get the right puppy run for my new pup? My partner's parents dog had puppies 6 weeks ago and one was left without a home. We took pity and decided to give the pup a home. We are living in my mother's home at the minute and will not get our new house for 4 months so we need to keep him at my mum's with us. She is happy to have him but her territorial jack Russell is less than pleased. He is fine when we are all there but we do not trust him with the pup on his own. We have decided, as we all work full time not to risk leaving the pup on his own with the jack russell and the only other option is to leave him outside all day which we don't want to do either. We are looking to keep him in the living room (the other dog occupies the dining room during weekdays) whilst we're away and need a little temporary run to keep him away from the furniture and Television wires until we get the jack russel used to him. They get plenty of attention and exercise before and after work and all weekend. This arrangement would just be on work-days. He's a collie cross. My aunt who is also a dog-lover calls over to let my mother's other dog out for a walk every day and has agreed to check and feed the pup every hour. My mother also only works two days during the week and the of her work is at the weekends when we'll be at the house so its only for two days really. We're looking for more of a puppy play-pen rather than an outdoor run. Added note: We had no choice over the age to take him. I would love to have kept him with the mother until about 10 weeks old. We took him as he was going to be left with a pound.

Question for Indians.......? We always feel sorry for the beggars on the street when we see children of the age of 5 or 6 going every nuke and corner asking for money from the passersby. Deep down our heart we make plans as to how these kids can be given a secure future. But in the midst of all these we fail to feel sorry for a class of people who equally deserve our pity. They are none other than those rich elite class of people who are never satisfied with even crores of money in their bank deposits. They often appear on Page Three. They throw lavish parties inviting all celebrities, politicians and big shots and of course they also come in limelight for brawls at these events. All this in the name of publicity. They keep adding properties to their portfolio. But within a week or so their efforts are challenged by some other person in their elite circle and thus the competition keeps going on and on. These people deserve our pity for their mindset. They deserve our pity for the fact that Greed is poverty in itself. When their conscience pricks them, they make some one-time charity but that too not without fame. Their lavish life sometimes causes them to run their vehicle over the poor people sleeping on the streets. They make a mockery of our judicial system by trying to buy the law of the land in an attempt to put a veil on their elite vices. They share all Notoriety for introducing pass times like Wife Swapping and Strip Tease to the Indian Culture and if they are questioned for these behaviors in talk shows on Television, they jump to their own defense saying that “It is 21st Century and that the West has already welcomed these things”. They would blatantly attack your cultural sensitivity by saying that you are narrow minded. Now judge for yourself. Don’t these people deserve our pity and sympathy for being guided by the misguided concepts of Modern Freedom? Dear Indians, what views would you like to share on this ?

Please tell me what you think about this essay and if it is good? Are there any corrections i should make and what do you think of my essay. please check it. and give feedback. please and thank you. Prompt: Discuss something that you have read and how it has influenced you, possibly changing your mind about something. Essay: "You can disappear here without knowing it." —Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis A book that has influenced me, or changed my mind about something was the novel Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis. This book has changed my perceptions on the idealistic lives of the young and rich in the 80’s and what it really means to “have it all”. After reading Less Than Zero it gave me that haunting and empty feeling very few books are able to give me. It gave me a better insight on the lives led by the privileged and ultimately made me pity them and their tragic ways. The characters in the story are able to have anything they want, which as the story unfolded I figured out was exactly the problem. They test the boundaries of how far is too far and it’s never far enough. When reading such a deep, haunting, mind bending novel about a controversial and rarely discussed subject I could not help being influenced and changed from what I had read. Less Than Zero has taught me to believe that the glamorous Los Angeles lifestyle is not all it’s cracked up to be and characters similar to those in the book are actually the unlucky and ill-fated ones. The characters appear to be shallow because, in reality they aren’t really there. Without anything to entertain them they play through life’s actions halfheartedly. This is due to the fact that, from an early age Clay and his friends were exposed to things most parents shield their kids from. One dilemma they face is that they really have “been there and done that”. They understand that they can have anything they want and they can do anything they want which ultimately leaves them nonchalant and reckless. The finer things they own or are given such as cars and expensive clothes do not help their situation any more than it hurts it. Each day is a quest to find thrills. I found this quite intriguing because, the average teenager finds the lack of freedom and not being able to do something due to restrictions set by parents/ guardians, morals, and religion is a problem in their lives. As television and movies show us the average teenager aims to establish more freedom and responsibility in hopes of living that seemingly fun and attractive lifestyle like Clay and his friends. No longer will I hold that kind of lifestyle in such high regards and believe it is anything worth wanting. I realize it is some meaningless search to find happiness and entertainment in a world where they could get anything they want with a snap of a finger. I credit this book for opening my eyes up about a kind of life I cannot experience firsthand and showing me the dark side of wealth and glamour. Furthermore, Less Than Zero proved to me that no one is shielded from the struggles and hardships of life no matter how easy their lives might seem. I found myself sympathizing with the characters even though I could not relate to their lives and personalities throughout the story. I put aside the fact that there are people such as those stricken by poverty and disease who would consider themselves lucky to be in their position and, the problems Clay and his friends face seem petty compared to many people in the world. I finally figured out that under the circumstances in which they live in they too are worth recognizing as unfortunate. Like the quote stated above, Clay and his acquaintances have disappeared in their fast paced L.A. lives without realizing it. Throughout the story the characters frequently mention their urge to go back to a simpler time, a time when they could actually feel things instead of playing through life’s motions. If one could see through the characters soulless exterior they can realize what goes on in their minds and the defining moments that led up to making them the self destructive and unhappy beings that they are. After searching for the good in these lost characters, I learned I should be doing this with people I face all the time. Instead of criticizing and despising someone based on their personality and actions I should try to see the situation from their point of view to reach the ultimate goal of understanding. Overall, Less Than Zero is a novel that has both influenced me and changed my mind about something. This harrowing novel has changed my thoughts about the heavily sugar coated lives of the rich and fabulous crowd in the 80’s and revealed the truth about this Los Angeles reality and the desperate search for cheap thrills I knew very little about. It influenced me to always look at both perspectives of a situation and not judge a person too quickly before thoroughly analyzing their point of view also and understand where they are coming from. As a result, this novel has affected me dee
I know its rushed, but how is my story so far? PROLOGUE Hayley sat at the kitchen table staring blankly at the most recent un-solved murder cases. At that moment her twin, Sam, stood behind her, gazing over her shoulder. ‘It’s getting worse. There’s been another. It’s getting more frequent… more close,’ she mumbled to her brother as he patted her on the shoulder. ‘What if we fall into that pattern? What’ll happen if they come after us?’ ‘Did you have another nightmare again?’ Sam said in a soothing voice. ‘Don’t worry, they’ll get caught. We’re only teenagers, in a messed up country. Anyone sick enough to murder kids will get what they deserve.’ Sam and Hayley shared a special connection- they knew it was a gift- and they kept to them selves because of it. Hayley envied her brother for the ease and control he had. She hated waking every night screaming and crying, picturing no things a sane person should; she hated blanking out of class with her pen scrawling blindly in her work books, sketching detailed and distorted images of things not meant to be seen. Sam had it so much easier. He didn’t wake from visions of tragedy. He didn’t have people staring at him with a glint of pity in their eyes. Although people didn’t look at him with particular friendly expressions either. Sam had the intense power to influence people’s minds and read their thoughts. Not that he could help himself most of the time. Apart from their- Hayley thought of them as curses- gifts they could heal themselves and others inhumanely; and run very fast. Like their lives had been created in mock creation of twisted vampire films, without the bloodlust and immunity to death. ‘We’ll be alright,’ Sam reassured as he stared down at the several pictures of murdered sets of twins, from fraternal to identical, boys or girls or both, all seventeen years of age. ‘Okay,’ she agreed giving up, ‘we better get to school then.’ She folded away the pictures of suffered loss and threw it across to the other side of the table. She picked up her bag and walked out to the hallway, stopping as she realised she’d forgotten to pick up her large notebook. ‘Oh shoot!’ she sighed as she quickly ran up to her room to retrieve it. She passed the living room on the way, dim morning light pouring through, outlining the couches and television set. She rushed up the second set of stairs, passing the bathroom at the end of the landing. She shot past artificially and straight into her room at the top of the stairs. The door was wide open when she stormed in, Sam stood there, notebook in hand. He was leaning against her wall that was a full mirror, stretching from ceiling to floor, left wall to right. She strolled up next to him and stared at the reflection that threatened to break into delicate shards of glass. He put his arm around her shoulder and gazed at the mirror. ‘I don’t ever want to lose you,’ she whispered. ‘I won’t allow it.’ ‘I’m not going anywhere,’ he replied in that soft understanding voice. She still looked deep into the picture before them, staring right back at her with pity and sorrow. They both had the same shadowy purple hair (never dyed of course); Sam’s short and messily nice pointed in all directions, while Hayley’s grew long to just above her belly button- semi, spiking out in layers, fringing her left eye. They both had bright green eyes and if you looked close enough you could see a tinge of red around the pupils- but less than barely. They both had flawless high cheekbones and light pink lips, both features people put themselves through pain to get. The sorts of bodies that girls generally get jealous of, but that was expected of models, not unsecure seventeen-year-old girls like Hayley. As the mirror reflected her train of thought Sam reached out to touch her mind and feel the emotions that surfaced there. They both knew they didn’t look like others at their school- not a blemish or spot, perfectly shaped pearly white teeth, Hayley with her gorgeous curves and fine hips, Sam his same perfect features and long dark lashes that made all the girls blush near him. They could do nothing but stand out, no matter how hard they tried to fit in. I just found it again on my computer, I wrote it a few months ago, and wanted to know what people thought...?
Would any of you continue reading this story? ? “Why do bad things always happen to me?” I thought with a puzzled expression as I stared at the television waiting for that big shiny ball to drop. All my friends were out partying with each other. Why shouldn’t they? It was New Years Eve. However, I was the girl, the girl with the exceptionally lame parents who forced her to spend New Year at her grandparent’s house, to have “family time”. That wasn’t exactly my idea of fun. “When do we get to go home?” I questioned with low hopes. At least at home I had the internet where I could do something. However, the answer I feared had come. “Yasmin, we are not going home until we see the ball drop, together, as a family.” She replied, adding extra emphasis on together and family. After her answer she went back to singing along with people on TV, which I personally thought ruined every song. I saw everyone on television counting down. “5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Happy New Year!” Everyone hugged, screamed, and kissed. I on the other hand sat lonely on the couch without anyone, let alone my boyfriend to comfort me. The only bright spot of these few minutes was my friends who felt great pity of my being alone sent me texts saying happy new years. This way I got to exchange a few words with people who were normal. Well, not normal I guess, my friends were too unusual to be normal. I slugged my way to the car, thinking that if I waited there my family would follow my lead…they didn’t. Luckily Florida was the warmest place to spend winter, and all the snow birds took advantage of that. After 15 minutes my family entered the car. As my mother entered she sent me an evil glance that I immediately knew told me to not be in such a bad mood. I couldn’t help it though, my book that I wanted was sold out everywhere and I wasn’t hanging out with my friends. The drive home was a quiet one; all I could hear was the sound of my dad’s gospel music, which I personally did not enjoy. Well that's all I have so far, but I have several questions for those of you who stuck with reading the story. 1. Would you continue reading? 2. What things could I make better? 3. Where do you think the story is going? Constructive criticism is welcomed! -Thank you so much! Sorry when I said "3. Where do you think the story is going?" I meant to say "Where do you think the story should go?"
Reality tv message boards? Ok so I have been on TWoP (television without pity) and FORT and both sites just sucked, yeah they had a lot of people but you werent able to give your opinion! They would edit your posts and ban you! So I found a new site that has more laid back Mods and its just starting. I find it fun! We could make it into a big site and not have to worry about being edited. http://realitytvuncensored.proboards103.com/index.cgi

And they will never understand how we could leave the house without a mobile phone. Now let's check if we're getting old... 1. You understand what was written above and you smile. 2. You need to sleep more, usually until the afternoon, after a night out. 3. Your friends are getting married/already married. 4. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computers. 5. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, you shake your head. 6. You remember watching Dirty Den in EastEnders the first time around. 7. You meet your friends from time to time, talking about the Good Old Days, repeating again all the funny things you have experienced together. 8. Having read this mail, you are thinking of forwarding it to some other friends because you think they will like it too... Yes, you're getting old!! Tammy.....I was born in the 50's and when i was about 10 or older we went out to play and only came home at meal times. it was all innocent play and our parents had no worries about us causing trouble for anyone. Dr. Joseph Geronimo, Jr.) is a prolific pro se litigant who, since at least the early 1990s, has filed numerous lawsuits throughout the United States and its territories under the names Roy and Joseph Geronimo, Jr., as well as under the names of entities that he is affiliated with, including International Siva Consciousness & World Religions, Reforms International, Handicap Interests International, and Jungle Democracy.[1] Roy's lawsuits are often brought against multiple defendants, and feature long, unconventional complaints. Roy has filed lawsuits against God, U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, fast food restaurants, foreign leaders.[2], and Wikipedia [3] [4]. Roy's lawsuits have addressed, among many other things, actions taken by President George W. Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and "failure of democratic societies and God's role therein."[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint: Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6] The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court's dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court "strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served."[7] Most, if not all, of Roy's complaints have been dismissed. What do you think of this story so far? Please be critical.? Breathing in the musty air of his laboratory he sat back down and returned to his work. He had to pay the bills and his grant money was almost gone. “How did I get a grant in the first place?” he wondered aloud. “It must have been a pity grant,” he answered, looking around at the refuse that covered the floor of the lab. “They give pity grants don't they?” “Well of course they do.” Again he answered his own question. “It is just like a pity date.” He began to grow tired of talking to himself (he was his only company lately, so this wasn't an isolated incident). He had to make some new discovery to be granted any more money to live on. He had been researching boring things since he had graduated, and he was sick of publishing essays with titles like “The Nocturnal Life of Amoeba” and “Genetically Modified Corn: Delicious Dinner or Masked Killer.” He really needed to sleep. With dreary steps, he walked to his bedroom and laid himself down. The bumps that covered his ceiling were like taunts written in braille. They were telling him that he should be up; he should be writing boring essays about his boring findings to submit to the National Science Foundation to get more grant money. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. Sleep would have to wait. As he got back to his desk he noticed the large stack of lap reports that sat next to his computer. He picked up the top few sheets and skimmed through the his most recent labs. Why was everything that he did so boring? Nothing in this stack was even moderately interesting compared to some of the other events going on in the science community. “Maybe I should just give up!” he announced while running his hand through his hair. “Why should I even joke like that? I have nothing to give up.” Needing to clear his mind, the biologist stumbled out of his apartment. He walked down the stairs and onto the street. When he started walking he had no intention of going anywhere, but he soon found himself in a restaurant, and he took a seat at the bar. -:- Sitting back in her office chair, the author rubbed her temples. She wasn't getting anywhere with her newest novel. It was going to be just another generic mystery novel if she didn't come up with any new ideas soon. She stood up. Without any ideas to work with she flipped the television on. “Do you need help making your payments?” asked the overly charming man on the screen. “Pff, of course I do, who doesn't?” “Well then call us today to get a loan with interest as low as 6.77%!” “Oh really? Too bad I wouldn't make enough money to pay back the loan. Ever,” she snarled. She quickly became sick of the advertisement and changed the channel. “. . . but Debbie always gets to go-” She shut the annoying box off and returned to her desk. What can I write? The computer is blank, and so is my mind. I hate this! I am scheduled to have this done in three weeks! That is never going to happen. That is never going to happen. That is never going to happen. What can I do? Everything that I am writing is boring, and none of it is good enough to get published. My last book, The Holy Spirit, The Human Spirit, The Whole Shebang was so good! Why can't I capture some of that this time around? Her mind was racing when she found herself at the refrigerator. There was no food there, nor was there any in the cupboard. Anxiously she picked at her sleeve. I am starving. I need to head to the store and pick up some food. I have to meet the publisher in an hour at a restaurant down town; I can wait to eat until then. She walked out onto the sidewalk. She began to walk hands constantly plucking away at the sleeves of her sweater. When she entered the restaurant she took a seat at the bar next to a man with oddly disheveled hair. “I need to get that grant,” the man said to nobody in particular. “What do you mean?” she asked while giving him a skeptic look. “Hmm?” He looked at her. “Oh yes, yes. I need to get another grant to live on. I am a biologist you see, though not a very successful one. I have recently been asking myself if the first grant was one that I received out of sheer pity.” “Oh,” she said before ordering a drink and continuing their conversation. -:- Laying down his finished copy of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five, the boy sighed. There was no greater feeling in the world than finishing a good book. Now that the school year had finished he could read whatever he wanted with all of his free time. He wiped his glasses on his t-shirt. Unlocking the brakes on his wheelchair, he wheeled himself into the kitchen to get a drink. Science fiction and fantasy stories flooded the boys head most of the day, even when he wasn't absorbed in a book. On his way to the kitchen he glanced toward his bookshelves. They were packed full with names like Tolkien, Orwell, and Adams. He adored each and every one of them. He never we
Compatible Signs-Love Matches.? ARIES March 21-April 19 Aries in Love: You will not tolerate being bossed around by your mate. You hate have your space infringed upon and you can't stand it if your mate shows up late for a date. You like to be asked for advice and flattery always makes you feel important. You will never slow down and wait for your lover. It's keep up or get left behind. You match up to your sign and the remaining eleven signs as follows. ARIES & ARIES: Temper tantrums are quite likely to erupt into major wars with this combination. Remember only one party can win and neither one will accept defeat. Passionate but problems. ARIES & TAURUS: The Bull has trouble with your free spirited attitude. With compromise it can work. A little bit dull for you at times however it can be a stabilizing experience for you. ARIES & GEMINI: Wonderful alliance. This is an exciting, sexual encounter that can in fact last. Both you and Gemini are so spontaneous and full of life that there is no time for either of you to become bored. ARIES & CANCER: The Crab is far too sensitive and slow for your speedy and hot tempered nature. You will have difficulty listening to the Crabs nagging and negativity. This is really a poor match up right from day one. Aries & LEO: This is a most exhilarating combination. You both share the same likes and dislikes. You are both always on the go, craving excitement, love and fun. This is truly a link made in heaven. ARIES & VIRGO: Your impulsiveness is just too much for the Virgoan. Virgo's practical, critical nature will drive you away rapidly. This is a relationship better left alone. ARIES & LIBRA: Although opposites attract, the Scales are just a little too lazy to keep up with you. You on the other hand lack the sophistication required to keep a Libran happy. ARIES & SCORPIO : You are both ruled by the catalyst Mars that makes this union hot and heavy. The possessive Scorpio will, however, does clash with your free spirited nature. ARIES & SAGITTARIUS: This can be a good and a lasting relationship. You are both fun-loving and quite oblivious to the faults that might drive most people crazy. This is an exciting and adventurous union. ARIES & CAPRICORN: Finances are the biggest detriment in this connection. You can spend it as fast as the hard working Goat can make it that drives the frugal Capricorn insane. ARIES & AQUARIUS: This is not a bad connection. You are both inquisitive, however at times you may find it difficult to contemplate what the Water-bearer will do next. ARIES & PISCES: Sexually this is not a bad alliance, but your temperaments are just so different that it does put a strain on the relationship. You could never handle the Fishes emotional whims for any length of time. TAURUS April 20-May 20 Taurus in Love: Your lover must approach you properly in order to win your heart. You love good cooking and fine wine. The way to your heart is definitely through your stomach. You are turned off by individuals who exaggerate or color the truth. You like to be admired and will respond if your lover is encouraging. Your connection to someone born under the same sign as yourself or one of the remaining eleven signs is as follows. TAURUS & ARIES: This union is better as a hot passionate affair. Your possessiveness will cramp the Aries free-loving nature. TAURUS & TAURUS: Not bad sexually, however this union is somewhat dull in other areas of life. You will have a tendency to grow fat together. Visualize two couch potatoes eating in front of the television. TAURUS & GEMINI: Gemini's lack of respect for possessions and stability will drive you up a wall. You aren't spontaneous enough for the versatile Twin. Not really a likely combination. TAURUS & CANCER: Good partnership. You will enhance one another. You offer the Crab the necessary security and in return you receive the affection and loyalty you desire. TAURUS & LEO: This is not only an unlikely connection but one that is built on deception. If your financial position is good you will attract the Lion however, this partner will want the freedom to roam. TAURUS & VIRGO: Problems usually arise in the bedroom, however in all other areas you and your Virgoan will do remarkably well. You are both practical and hard working. TAURUS & LIBRA: Compromise is necessity if you want this union to work. Your Libran mate will be far too indecisive for you and you lack the sophistication that the Scales demand in a partner. TAURUS & SCORPIO: Polarity attraction, sexually dynamic, however you are both fixed signs that can cause difficulties. Your stubbornness and the Scorpions jealousy will result in a no win situation. TAURUS & SAGITTARIUS: This combo is better left as friends. The archer likes to gamble, free-spirited and taking each day as it comes. You on the other hand could never live without routine and would frown up the Sagittarians irresponsibility. TAURUS & CAPRICORN: This is not a bad alliance as you both have the same interests where money, possessions and security are concerned. The biggest drawback is the old 'all work and no play' syndrome. TAURUS & AQUARIUS: You are both fixed signs with a totally different concept of life. The water-bearer is too much of a loner and you always want to own or possess your partner. TAURUS & PISCES: This combination can work, however the Fish lack practicality which can be a deterrent for you. On the other hand your Pisces mate may leave if you become too domineering GEMINI May 21-June 20 Gemini in Love: You can play a heartless game using your keen intellect, charm and sex appeal to your advantage. You can easily persuade any sign to have a passionate affair with you, however a long term relationship is another story. You aren't likely to stay in any union that restricts, confines or holds you back in any way. You match up as follows to your own sign and the remaining eleven signs. GEMINI & ARIES: This is one of your best matches. You both have a high energy, a thirst for adventure and spontaneity. Passionate, sudden and compelling this union can last. GEMINI & TAURUS: This is not a good connection for the Bull. Your lack of routine upsets this steady sign. You find Taureans far too dull for your liking and will tend to wander early into the relationship. GEMINI & GEMINI: You can have some real good times but you seldom stay together unless you meet in later years. There is a lack of direction that usually prevails, however you can have some wonderful times together. GEMINI & CANCER: The Moon child is far too moody and sensitive for your fickle ways. You are not a homebody like the Crab. You have totally different interests then a Cancer. GEMINI & LEO : This is not a bad connection. You both complement one another. The generous Lion will bend to whatever you want as long as you let your flattering silver-tongue lead the way. GEMINI & VIRGO: This is not the best union, the practical Virgo views you as being disorganized and frivolous. You on the other hand don't think that the Virgoan knows how to have a good time. GEMINI & LIBRA: Magnetic union, however not long lasting. The Scales find it difficult to live in the turmoil and melodrama that you thrive on. This relationship is usually short, hot and sweet. GEMINI & SCORPIO: Scorpio's jealous tendencies are impossible for you to handle. You flirtatious ways and little white lies will drive the Scorpion as far away as possible. GEMINI & SAGITTARIUS : This union can work, however you both love to travel therefore you may not spend much time together. You both tend to leave your fate to luck which can make this a risky relationship. GEMINI & CAPRICORN: Not great. The goat is too ambitious and organized for you. You have totally different priorities in love and in life. GEMINI & AQUARIUS : Super alliance, you are both original and like variety. This makes for a fun loving couple. This is not always a lasting union but it is certainly worth pursuing. GEMINI & PISCES : Insecurity usually ruins this relationship. This can be an extremely emotional union. Unique, destructive, yet passionate and lustful resulting in hurt and anxiety. CANCER June 21-July 22 Cancer in Love: Your sensitive nature can be difficult to deal with. You are often misunderstood at an emotional level You need a mate that can understand your tenderness. You match up you your own sign and the other eleven as follows. CANCER & ARIES: This is not a very good combination for you. The Ram's lack of tact and their hot temper is just too devastating for your sensitive and insecure nature. CANCER & TAURUS : The Bull is one of your best partners. You are both homebodies who appreciate good food, good quality and thrift. You can keep each other quite happy. Truly an enduring relationship. CANCER & GEMINI : The Twins play too many mind games for your soft and innocent approach to life. Gemini's flirtatious free-spirited nature is just too hurtful for you to have to deal with. CANCER & CANCER: Together you are far too negative for this union to work. Emotional problems will exist throughout the entire relationship. Neither one of you has the ability to see the positive side to the relationship. CANCER & LEO : The Lion needs to be the center of attention, therefore you will often feel quite neglected in this relationship. You have a tendency to nag and that will drive a Leo mate on to greener pastures. CANCER & VIRGO: This partnership lacks excitement, to say the least, however that doesn't usually matter to either you or your mate. Security and the home are much more important to both you and the practical Virgoan. CANCER & LIBRA: Your mood swings are far too upsetting for the Scales. Libra Needs harmony and a variety of entertainment which really isn't your style or your intent. You create melodrama at an emotional level and would prefer to stay at home where it's safe and secure. CANCER & SCORPIO: You are both too possessive that can and usually does lead to problems at some time. As long as you deal with these issues promptly you can have a happy, satisfying and loving union. CANCER & SAGITTARIUS: The Archer is too worldly for you. You don't like to take risks and Sagittarians thrive on chance. This is not your best bet for a lasting union but it is one that often attracts you. CANCER & CAPRICORN: Polar opposites, Usually there is a lot of chemistry, but the Goat does not usually have the time to show you enough affection. If you can put up with their workaholic ways you can rest assured that you will be well-taken care of financially. CANCER & AQUARIUS: You are far too sensitive for the Water-bearers aloofness. Aquarians cannot tolerate your need to cling to them. CANCER & PISCES : You and the Fish are probably the two most sensitive signs of the zodiac. Although you can comprehend one another you can also play emotional games and hurt each other. This connection can work if you communicate openly and honestly. LEO July 23-August 22 Leo in Love: When looking for a prospective mate you will interact diversely with all the other constellations including your own. LEO & ARIES: This is a capricious match. Your common interests and lusty passionate nature bring about outrageous social and sexual encounters. LEO & TAURUS: This is an ill-fated connection, your extravagance and desire to party are antagonizing to the prudent Bull. This relationship is not likely to start up in the first place, and not likely to last if you do make it to first base. LEO & GEMINI: You are enticed by the clever Twins, nevertheless the Twins' fickleness enrages you. Intriguing while this connection lasts, however it's usually short lived. LEO & CANCER : You're powerful desire to be the center of attention along with your vanity is pernicious for the shy, sensitive Crab. Not a choice alliance. LEO & LEO: This is a dramatic combination, providing both desist from dominating one another. This is truly a royal match and believe it or not, it often works. LEO & VIRGO: Virgo's desire to be in command and methodical nature collides with your carefree, spontaneous temperament. This combo takes a lot of compromise on the part of the Virgoan. LEO & LIBRA: Libra's sophistication and your flair constitute an entertaining coalition, unless a financial deficit prevails. You can both be quite extravagant and wasteful. LEO & SCORPIO: You can dance rather well in a horizontal position, the end result can be crimes of passion, due to jealousy. This union is usually hot, heavy and short lived. LEO & SAGITTARIUS: This is probably your foremost partner physically and mentally. This union will revel in spending, travel and adventure. Quite an exciting connection. LEO & CAPRICORN: You'll get bored with the Goat's careful and enterprising ways, which is too bad because the Goat is the one sign that can usually afford to spoil you monetarily. LEO & AQUARIUS : The polarities usually attract passionately, nevertheless the Water-bearer's expansive interests and higher mind leave you feeling somewhat neglected and unimportant. LEO & PISCES: This is a detrimental relationship for the shy Pisces and a most unlikely attraction for you. Not compatible and very hurtful for the Fish that is attracted to you. VIRGO August 23-September 22 Virgo in Love: Zodiacal match-ups for you are not the easiest due to your critical analytical nature. VIRGO & ARIES: The volatile Aries will upset your nervous nature, the conclusion being ill-fated and certainly not lasting. The Ram just won't put up with your put-downs. VIRGO & TAURUS: You both share the same high standards and, needless to say, are not the most exciting couple on earth. This is a much better connection during the last half of life. VIRGO & GEMINI: Not a chance. The risky, carefree fickle Gemini sees you as a drag. Truly a miracle if the two of you do interact for any length of time. This union is best left alone unless other factors prevail in both charts. VIRGO & CANCER : Somewhat dull. You both tend to avoid getting involved in activities outside your own environment. Neither of you bother to end the relationship even if it isn't working. This union is a critical and nagging match that results in lowered self-esteem for both of you. VIRGO & LEO: You will have continuous arguments concerning finances and sex. Your critical tongue will make the Lion wander, seeking the ego-boosting that is necessary for the proud Leo's existence. VIRGO & VIRGO: You are quite likely to agree on most subjects. Virgo's are work, security and cleanliness oriented. When two of you get together in this capacity, unusual sexual pleasures can unfold. VIRGO & LIBRA: Libra's extravagant, indecisive nature bothers you, however Libra's charm can normally melt your critical tongue. Beware not to run Libra off by being too critical. This could be a very passionate relationship, if it lasts. VIRGO & SCORPIO : This is an interesting match. If the scorpion can tempt you into sexual encounters that are exotic, the end result will end in fireworks. VIRGO & SAGITTARIUS: This is sexually not bad. The Archer's non-committal approach to life however, drives you up a wall. This combo works better as a passing affair. VIRGO & CAPRICORN: This is an excellent union. Practicality and neatness go hand in hand for the Goat as well as for you. Fear of material loss locks you in tight for a long term union. VIRGO & AQUARIUS: This is a far more mental then physical connection. You rule the lower mind and the Water-bearer the higher mind. This is an intellectual union that is likely to be lasting. VIRGO & PISCES: This is a polarity attraction. You are enamored by the Pisces empathetic ways and in turn the Fish needs your practical direction. Pisces' sexuality can bring out the erotic side in you. LIBRA September 23-October 22 Libra in Love: When it comes to compatible signs for you harmony is the most important factor to keep in mind. Without harmony you can't possibly survive. LIBRA & ARIES: Polarity attraction. Shooting stars in the bedroom. Tension, however, at a mental level. It can work if you are both willing to compromise. LIBRA & TAURUS: Not too bad as you both value the finer things in life. The Bull's possessiveness can bring about some problems for you however if the price is right you'll put up with a little control. LIBRA & GEMINI: Intellectual connection. This relationship is much better left as a friendship. You both need a great deal of freedom to experience other people. If you both agree on ground rules right from day one it can last. LIBRA & CANCER: This is not the best match. The moody Crab is just too difficult for you to handle. You need to surround yourself with positive individuals who will create a harmonious environment. LIBRA & LEO: This is a good union, similar lifestyles, both hooked on sex. The Lion's dazzle, and your refined nature balances out quite nicely. Together you make an extremely nice looking couple. LIBRA & VIRGO: This is an interesting combination, and could have a surprising turn out. In most cases the practical Virgo might find your passionate nature a bit hard to grasp, and you might not grasp the less than passionate ways of the Virgo. But, then again you both could prove that opposites attract, and end of finding each other IRRESISTABLE. This, of course, is rare. LIBRA & LIBRA: This is not a bad connection, but boredom can be a definite risk as you will both expect to be entertained. Your lazy nature when it comes to domestic chores will also be a problem if you can't afford to hire help. LIBRA & SCORPIO: The Scorpions' jealousy vexes the casual, harmonious nature that you possess. This is certainly not an alliance made in heaven and usually quite difficult for you to balance. LIBRA & SAGITTARIUS: This is an auspicious relationship. The Archer's charisma and thirst for adventure will hold your interest. Your good looks and cultural knowledge will entice the Archer. LIBRA & CAPRICORN: It's difficult for the Goat to accept your inactivity. Physically there is a powerful attraction between you, unfortunately it is seldom lasting. LIBRA & AQUARIUS: This is a compatible coalition, you are capable of making love in the highest form. Your two of a kind, neither of you care about detail nor domestics. LIBRA & PISCES: This is not usually lasting. The Fish is too confused and sensitive in nature that makes this connection a highly complicated combination. The end result can be devastating if you aren't careful. SCORPIO October 23-November 21 Scorpio in Love: You have an all-or-nothing approach to relationships, therefore you do not match up to all the signs. Here's a look at how you do interact with others. SCORPIO & ARIES: You make a hot combination in bed. Highly aggressive sex that could be described as implied violence. Lustful but not lasting due to your jealous nature. SCORPIO & TAURUS: Polar opposites that actually do quite well together. The Bull is stable and loyal enough to satisfy your intense nature. You both value long-term unions and are willing to work at them together. SCORPIO & GEMINI: This is not a likely match, the Illusive, fickle Gemini will drive you to distraction, which in turn could bring out your vengeful side. SCORPIO & CANCER : This is one of your best connections. The Crab is a loyal mate who is usually willing to stand behind you. Cancers are attracted to your strong, demanding ways. SCORPIO & LEO: This connection can lead to crimes of passion. Although you are strongly attracted to the Lion, Leo's flamboyant, flirtatious nature will cause anger that could erupt into murder-suicide. SCORPIO & VIRGO : The Virgoan has difficulties with your sexual leanings. You will bore easily and move on to more passionate partners. SCORPIO & LIBRA : This is not the best match. Libra is far too good looking and easy going for your jealous nature. You would likely end up spying on this social butterfly. SCORPIO & SCORPIO: Sexually you are truly compatible, however out of the bedroom you are far too much alike -- creating problems and mind games. You will always think that the other is having an affair. SCORPIO & SAGITTARIUS: This alliance is a waste of time for both parties. You are a homebody and the Archer is a travel nut. This is not a likely attraction. SCORPIO & CAPRICORN: This is a wonderful partnership. You both have the same values and cherish your home environment. Mentally and physically you match up well, easily satisfying one anothers needs. SCORPIO & AQUARIUS: Why bother. This will never work due to the Aquarian's need for freedom and your need to possess. Your values, ethics and approach to life are just too different. SCORPIO & PISCES: This is not bad. Probably the most erotic sexual combination. The Fish is willing to be a part of your whims and desires, and that makes for a lasting union. SAGITTARIUS November 22-December 21 Sagittarius in Love: You do much better when it comes to friendships then you do in love relationships. Here's a look at how you do match up to other signs. SAGITTARIUS & ARIES: This is not a bad match while it lasts. Fun-loving, adventuresome, certainly compatible. Both you and the Ram like to do your own thing, therefore you often part on friendly terms as you go off in your own directions. SAGITTARIUS & TAURUS : The Bull leads too structured a life for you to conform to. This is not a likely match. Taureans see you as a wanderer with no apparent direction. SAGITTARIUS & GEMINI: You are polar opposites giving this connection plenty of chemistry, however outside activities tend to take you both in different directions. You both like to take chances and depend too much on luck. SAGITTARIUS & CANCER: You are a traveler and the Crab is a homebody that automatically puts you on a different wave length. This combination makes a much better friendship. You could never live within the other's life-style and remain happy. SAGITTARIUS & LEO: This is probably one of your best match ups. You bring out the best in one another. You both have a very carefree approach to life and love. SAGITTARIUS & VIRGO: Virgo's do not handle your lifestyle well. You can not put up with the Virgoan's meticulous, detailed way of doing everything. SAGITTARIUS & LIBRA: This is probably one of your best connections. You get the freedom you desire and both of you absolutely hate confrontation, therefore problems are just put on the shelf. SAGITTARIUS & SCORPIO: The Scorpion cannot live with your freedom loving wandering spirit. When the jealousy sets in you'll be off to greener pastures. SAGITTARIUS & SAGITTARIUS: You will shake well with one another. This combination is somewhat unpredictable. It's not always a lasting union due to a lack of being in the same place at the same time, but truly a hot affair. SAGITTARIUS & CAPRICORN: You are impulsive, risk-taking and always looking for adventure that frightens the cautious Goat. This is really not a suitable union, You are far too different to ever exist together. SAGITTARIUS & AQUARIUS : You both love adventure, travel and the great outdoors. You can have a lasting relationship, especially if it is a long distance romance. SAGITTARIUS & PISCES: This is a passionate attraction, but unfortunately neither one of you can supply the other with the emotional factor required to make this coalition work. CAPRICORN December 22-January 19 Capricorn in Love: When it comes to compatible mates, You can compliment a number of different signs. CAPRICORN & ARIES: You are both far too independent to get along for any length of time. Although there is an attraction and mutual respect, arguments will make this union impossible. CAPRICORN & TAURUS: You both have the same regard for quality and money. This is almost a match made in heaven. Sexually adequate and certainly a long lasting alliance. CAPRICORN & GEMINI: Forget it -- the flirtatious, fun-loving Twin will not impress you. To you, Gemini's are irresponsible and unworthy of your dedication. CAPRICORN & CANCER: You are polar opposites that do quite well together. You feed each other exactly what's needed. Security from you and loyalty and trust from the Crab. CAPRICORN & LEO: The extravagant Lion will disgust you. You hate wasteful, flamboyant individuals. Although sexually you are compatible this combination is best as a one night stand. CAPRICORN & VIRGO: This is a very good mental connection, nevertheless not the most sexually oriented combination. CAPRICORN & LIBRA : You will be mesmerized by the sophisticated Libran, but that is about as far as this amalgamation will go. You will also tire of the lazy Libran's ways. CAPRICORN & SCORPIO: Not bad at all. You both understand one another perfectly and can appreciate the same values and directions. Sexually you can dance superbly together. CAPRICORN & SAGITTARIUS: You are far too different in your likes and dislikes. The adventurous risk-taking Archer finds you boring due to your cautious, routine nature. CAPRICORN & CAPRICORN: This relationship lacks stimulation. You are both far too cautious, frugal and self-righteous to last. This is a dead end in the bedroom. CAPRICORN & AQUARIUS: Although you can appreciate the Water-bearer's mind and originality, the Aquarian's lack of direction and carefree nature will cause you to shy away. CAPRICORN & PISCES: This is not a bad match. The Pisces' eagerness to please will attract and hold you. This union will only encounter problems if you neglect the Fish's need for attention. AQUARIUS January 20-Feburary 18 Aquarius in Love: You tend to match up to most signs in a friendly manner, but when it comes to love some signs are better than others. AQUARIUS & ARIES : This is an excellent match. You both enjoy a large variety of entertainment. A truly adventuresome union as long as neither one of you tries to dominate or regulate activities. AQUARIUS & TAURUS : The stubborn Bull will have difficulties understanding the unpredictable side of you. Concessions will be necessary on the part of both of you if success is to follow. AQUARIUS & GEMINI: This is a delightful, intellectually stimulating relationship. Not always smooth but certainly an exciting and entertaining connection. AQUARIUS & CANCER: You are far too aloof for the insecure Crab. Not a likely encounter, highly dangerous for Cancer and somewhat binding for you. AQUARIUS & LEO: You are polar opposites. The is plenty of chemistry, however the Lion is more physical in nature then you are. You on the other hand are concerned with the intellectual aspect of the relationship that is often lacking. AQUARIUS & VIRGO: You are both into the intellect, however you might be a little bit too progressive for the practical Virgoan. Virgo's are just not social enough to hang on to you or hold your interest. AQUARIUS & LIBRA: Very well-suited couple both mentally and physically. Exciting, fun loving and carefree connection. Your spending habits are the only foreseeable dilemma. AQUARIUS & SCORPIO: This is not the best coalition. You are both fixed in your beliefs and your free-spirited nature arouses suspicious side of the Scorpion. AQUARIUS & SAGITTARIUS: This is a wonderful affair, two ships that pass in the night. You are an active and outgoing couple, however seldom lasting because eventually you will both go in your own direction. AQUARIUS & CAPRICORN: This is not good. You both have totally different goals in life. You are far too humanitarian to live with the Goat's manipulative, ambitious ways. AQUARIUS & AQUARIUS: Although this is probably the most inventive coalition, it is lacking in the sexual arena. Not a lasting relationship but it can be fun for the moment. AQUARIUS & PISCES: This is a pretty dicey combination. The Fish's emotional blackmail only drives you further away. This Pisces is likely to end up hurt and confused. PISCES Feburary 19-March 20 Pisces in Love: When you get involved with the other eleven signs or another Fish different reactions occur. PISCES & ARIES: You are far too sensitive for the aggressive Ram. You will be left behind to drown in your sorrows. An unfortunate match. PISCES & TAURUS : This is not a bad connection, however the Bull can get upset with your impractical nature. You, on the other hand, may find that the Bull is too stubborn. PISCES & GEMINI : Your emotional blackmail will usually hold a Gemini, however sorrow almost always prevails. A very destructive union for both parties involved. PISCES & CANCER: You belong together. You are both sensitive, weepy and love to dwell in self-pity. This is a great match, certainly lasting, however someone negative and moody. PISCES & LEO: You are doomed in this alliance. The Lion is too outgoing and you are far too sensitive. A hurtful relationship with little substance. PISCES & VIRGO: This is your polar attraction. It can be extremely perverse in the bedroom, but difficult at a mental level. You are impractical and this will really try the Virgoans patience. PISCES & LIBRA: You are both creatively inclined, however you are just not sophisticated enough for the Scales. Librans also have trouble putting up with your emotional whims. PISCES & SCORPIO: This is a highly sexual union. You love to be possessed and cared for with the deep, warm affection that the Scorpion can provide. Truly a match made in heaven. PISCES & SAGITTARIUS : This is not your best alliance as the Archer's non-committal nature will hurt your tender heart. Your daily melodramas will drive the Sagittarius away. PISCES & CAPRICORN: This is not a bad combo in general however, you will probably run around on the Goat due to loneliness. You are also too wasteful for the Capricorn to deal with. PISCES & AQUARIUS: This is not the best union. The Water-bearer is far too cool and detached for you. Your tears and tantrums will soon tire the Aquarius. PISCES & PISCES: This is an emotional connection. Extremely good in the bedroom, but difficult out of the bedroom. You both crave attention and affection yet you want to do your own thing. Exhausting but exciting.
Can someone please proof read for gramatical errors.? I am usually pretty good about proofing for grammatical errors. My professor said my paper had a lot of grammatical errors, but I can't seem to find them. I would like someone to please look this over and let me know what I did wrong so I can look out for it in the future. This is a Reader Response Essay. Thanks for your help! (See paper below) Anna Quindlen of Newsweek published the article titled “Members of the Class of 2004”. The author wrote this article in May of 2004, and although she directed it to the graduating class of that year, graduating students of the prior and future years alike, as well as parents of the graduating students, would all be able to relate to her speech. In an apologetic form, Anna Quindlen expressed to the class of 2004 her deepest pity and sympathy for what is being expected of this generation. She used slight comparisons of former generations to this current one to differentiate between the ideas and standards children and young adults of this day have to live by. This magazine journalist used reality television show titles, such as “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and “Survivor”, as a play on words to emphasize what is being pushed into a way of thinking and way of life rather than mere entertaining television programs. The author also expressed how fast-paced everything is now that it gives little time for the youth to stop and think about what is truly important in life. I believe that society today has made it incredibly complicated for any young adult to attempt to achieve even the simplest goals in life, and the quality of life has been traded for quantity and price and at a much faster rate. In the first few paragraphs of the article, it was alarming and quite saddening to envision the picture the author painted of the fast progression and degradation of the collage industries in the current time. My attention was caught when she related that in her day she could manage to pay her own college tuition with summer wages. If someone were to say that they were doing that in the present generation, I would question the college they are supposedly attending. When the author mentioned “companies that will throw up instant walls to turn a one-bedroom apartment into a place where three people can coexist”, I was disgusted by the idea that quality of lifestyle and education is compromised for mere money and space. It was creative the way Anna Quindlen grasped the attention of her audience by using some of today’s reality television show titles to relate to the normal way of living in today’s society. Using the term “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and answering “Everyone. Although a million doesn’t buy what it once did,” the author assumed her graduating class watches this show and would laugh at the irony of how little this amount of money means in today’s day. College loans alone could take more than a quarter of that amount to pay off. In those terms, a million dollars doesn’t necessarily seem like that much, sadly to admit. The author also used the reality television show “Survivor” to associate the demands of this world with everyday family, career, and extra-curricular activities. By creating this parallel, the author expressed the immense pressure and difficulty in keeping up with what is expected of us all. I liked this association because I’ve already experienced many of these stresses in life and can relate them to “surviving” rather than enjoying life. Out of the entire article, what saddened me the most was a concern the author quoted from a student graduating that year that her achievements might, to her and her family, be considered failures since the price of living and obtaining materials is so much higher now than it was for previous generations. What is sad about this is that the student wasn’t putting too much pressure on herself in terms of what she wanted to achieve, but rather how she was expected to achieve even the “American Dream” with it costing so much more money now. The student goes on to state that she “just wants everything to stop moving for a while so that [she] can think.” It is disappointing to think that life focuses so much on earning enough money, and the demand for making and doing more is so pressing that students who haven’t even entered the “real world” yet are afraid to even step out into it because it’s all going too fast to make any sense. The author did a wonderful job in expressing how society has become too demanding of its children for them to have any hope for their future. It has compromised the integrity of what it can offer its children because it wants too much more too fast. It has created the illusion that happiness can only be achieved by how much money one makes but has made it nearly impossible to make enough money. And it has discouraged its children from believing their dreams can actually come to pass without at least having to struggle in an unimaginable degree in most cases.
How can this Commie call our "president" 0bama things like this? Obama's Third World Press Rant By Wesley Pruden Throwing rotten eggs at "them lyin' newspapers" has always been great sport in America, and sometimes even effective politics. But it has to be done with wit and humor, which may be above Barack Obama's pay grade. Thomas Jefferson despised newspapers, with considerable justification. They printed libels and slanders about him that persist to the present day. Yet he famously said that if he had to choose between government without newspapers and newspapers without government, he would cheerfully choose to live in a land with newspapers (even not very good ones) and no government. Harry Truman threatened to demolish the manhood of a newspaper music critic who criticized his daughter's singing. Richard Nixon compiled an enemies list, prominently including newspapermen. I made Bill Clinton's enemies list and dined out on it for weeks. George W. Bush confessed, no doubt accurately, that he never read newspapers. The president's media environment is "target rich," but as any bombardier could tell you, there's more to scoring a bull's-eye than opening the bomb-bay doors. In a fit of pique, John F. Kennedy canceled the White House subscription to the New York Herald-Tribune (may it R.I.P.) because he thought it relished stories about Democratic zits and covered up Republican pimples. The ban didn't last; the White House soon subscribed again, and JFK poked a little fun at his over-the-top pique. Politicians who actually get their revenge on press tormentors do so with rapier thrusts of whimsy and clever insult. An early 20th-century governor and U.S. senator from Arkansas (from whom Mr. Clinton took pointers) delighted in sharp thrust-and-parry with the Arkansas Gazette (may it R.I.P.), the state's leading newspaper. "My wife and I have a little boy, and we have great ambitions for him," he would tell audiences gathered on courthouse lawns at the foot of the monument to the Confederate soldier. "If it turns out that he's as intelligent as we think he is, we hope to make a Baptist preacher of him. If he has just average intelligence, that's all right, we'll send him to law school. But if it turns out he's the village idiot, we'll just send him down to Little Rock to edit the morning newspaper." Good fun. But something more sinister is afoot in Mr. Obama's carefully plotted campaign to destroy his perceived enemies in the press, television and even business. Rush Limbaugh is only the face of the opposition, and the ultimate target of the White House scheme is to marginalize and destroy the Republican Party first, and then everyone else unwilling to get in the lockstep parade toward the hazy dream of Utopia. Mr. Obama and his White House can't seem to get their brains around the fact that the election of '08 is over, and he won. A candidate feeds on red meat, but a president is the president of everyone, and must set a different table. Mr. Obama campaigned with promises of a post-racial, post-partisan, post-rancor administration, and millions of Americans responded with enthusiasm. The candidate who said he took inspiration from Abraham Lincoln of Illinois now acts as if he takes inspiration from the distinguished statesmen of the Third World, where press opposition to the leader is usually a bloody no-no. The remarkable White House attempt to define which news organization is legitimate and which is not began in August, as Mr. Obama's poll numbers began a dramatic slide. Suddenly the man who yearns to be the permanent president of the Student Body, loved by all and adored by the co-eds and their mamas, is rendered human after all. Anita Dunn, the director of White House communications, says that when the administration began planning for autumn (with important gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia), the president "needed to be more aggressive in defining what the choices are, and in protecting and pushing forward our agenda." Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge and Fox News are big enough to take care of themselves, but the implications of what the Obamanauts are trying to do are scary, indeed. Brisk and even brutal opposition is something every president must endure; it's a pity that Mr. Obama skipped school the day the class studied American history. The candidate insists that the critics who scoff that he isn't really the messiah, but another Chicago politician, are just being cynical. This week Ms. Dunn insisted that the Obama image is intact. "He's who he has always been." So we are learning, to widespread sorrow. • Wesley Pruden is editor emeritus of The Washington Times. What do you think of this story? 1 I could not resist. She was walking alone, off the trail. I happened upon her when I was hunting, not a very acceptable situation. "Hello," she said as she saw me. I could feel her level of fear and astonishment rising. Her heart rate started to climb. "Well, hello," I said in a subdued voice that I saved for the luring in of humans. She unconsciously took a step away from me, but never took her eyes off mine. That step was all it took to set me off. I lunged at her, knocking her to the ground; she let out a little yelp. I lowered my head to her neck. I could feel her pulse beating wildly. "Sorry," I whispered before I plunged my teeth into her neck. I felt the sweet blood pour into my mouth. Her struggles were becoming less severe. I drank faster, not wanting her to suffer. When I was done, I looked down at her. She looked about fifteen and had dark curly hair. was one of the palest humans I'd ever seen. Almost as pale as me. He face was relaxed. A small smile was painted on her face. That's how it always was. The humans realized they were going to die and stopped fighting it. They thought of the good things in life and ultimately, died happy. I frowned slightly. No matter how content they were when they died, I felt terrible. I’d taken her away from her family, her friends. It was then that I knew I made a mistake. My family would be furious. I buried the body and then went on the hunt for big game. Maybe if I devoured enough animal they wouldn't see the subtle pink in my eyes. It wasn't a very big girl, there was less blood inside her than in your average adult. It was more of a little snack than a meal. I hunted nothing but large animals for the next two hours, and then made my way towards home. I felt it as soon as I got near the house, an anger that was almost tangible. They couldn't know what I'd done. I had blocked my thoughts from Edward during my entire hunting trip, and Alice wouldn't know because I had made the decision right before I did it. Perhaps they were angry about something else. I ran to the front door and then slowed. It was almost painful to be standing there. I could feel Edwards rage radiating through the walls. Before I had a chance to open it, Edward all but ripped the piece of hardwood off its hinges. "How could you? Human, Jasper? Human?!" he roared, pulling me into the house. "Bella is here! I don't need an unstable brother when she's around! She could be hurt!" I looked around the room. Emmett and Rosalie had the same shocked looks on their faces. Carlisle and Esme were facing away, I could feel their pain. Alice was standing behind Edward, hands on hips, looking at me with a fierce look, with a hint of sadness and pity. . Bella was shrinking back from Edward, she didn't feel scared, just startled. Edward had never lost his temper like that around her. The room had gone quiet. "What do you need me to do?" I asked, already fearing the answer. "I need you to leave," answered Edward simply. I looked to where Alice was standing and it seemed that she actually agreed with him. The rest of them didn't say anything, so I assumed that it had been talked about before I had gotten here. If not, nobody was exactly protesting the idea. "You're kicking me out," I stated. "Sooner rather than later, please," said Edward, not hiding the disdain in his voice. It was like being this close to someone like me absolutely disgusted him. I turned without saying a word and left, nobody stopped me. Nobody followed, not even Alice. The fact that my own family would leave me out in the dust had crushed my will to fight back. There would be no begging on my part. It was bad enough that my family had kicked me out, but when Alice didn't do anything to stop it, I was crushed. She was the one person who meant the most to me, and she sat by and accepted my departure from the family. I stood in the forest surrounding the house for around an hour, and decided that it would be nice to check back in on my family before I left them forever. A last look at their faces would be nice. I peeked into Emmett and Rosalie's room and was not surprised when I saw them lounging on the bed watching television. That's almost all that Emmett did besides hunt. Rosalie was frowning at the wall. I looked into Carlisle and Esme's room, where Carlisle was holding Esme's shuddering form. She'd be crying if she could. I turned away, not being able to bear anymore. When I got to Alice's room, I saw that it was empty. Wondering where she was, I moved to Edward's window. He would have noticed me there if his face wasn't glued to Alice's. His hand started to move slowly up her shirt. She giggled and I'd had enough. I turned away and didn't look back. I knew where it was going; I could feel the passion through the win
What should I cut out of my exam speech? This is the basic outline of my exam speech, when parts would be best to cut out, as this speech takes over 10 minutes and should be minutes less. -What is the most important question on Earth? -I am going to assume that either all or the bulk of the religious people in this room are Christian. -Atheism, in all its forms, is the fastest growing religion-related belief in the world. -1 out of 5 of the people in this room are most likely non-religious. -Religion has existed for a very long time, served as an explanation for things people didn’t understand. -Now that we are understanding more than we could have ever imagined and are learning more as an exponential rate, religion is no longer necessary, but old habits die hard. -I’m not going to question the possible existence of a god in general or of the Muslim or Buddhist god, take too long. Could also talk for hours about Christianity. -Here’s a basic argument: -Evil exists (destruction, rape, murder, starvation, war) -Definition of Christian god is he’s all-powerful, perfect, loving, and caring. -Two possibilities: -Cannot take away evil, which contradicts with being all-powerful. -Chooses not to take away evil, which means he’s belligerent and lets billions suffer, not only adults who have sinned but children and infants all over the world for millennia. Does this sound like a caring, perfect, loving god? -Let’s take a quick look at the Bible, the holy word of god. How many people? -I’ll assume most people in here care only for the New Testament and reject the terrible Old Testament so I won’t go into it, but quickly I’ll say my favorite quote from the Old Testament: - Deuteronomy 25:11-12: If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy's genitals, her hand shall be cut off and no pity shall be shown her. -I’ll also ignore that God commands that witches, homosexuals, rebellious children, fortunetellers, adulterers, followers of other religions, nonbelievers, women who don’t listen to men, brats, fornicators, and false prophets be brutally murdered in the Old Testament and that there’s dozens of cases of god ordering entire cities to be pillaged, burned, all its men murdered ,and all its women raped. He also condones sexism and slavery. -The Old Testament is obviously terrible, so let’s look at the New Testament. Many people overlook very basic bible stories for granted. God ordered millions of men, women, and children and every other living thing save Noah, his family, and a lot of animals to be killed in a great flood. This is a child’s bed time story. Even if it didn’t really happen but is just symbolic, isn’t it terrible? -Did you know that on Matthew 7:7 “every one who asks receives”. Anyone who believes, and prays for something in his name, it will happen. Do you believe that? Jesus says its true but it obviously isn’t. -Worthy requests, won’t levitate a car for you. Even though it doesn’t say it matters how important the request is in the bible, lets think of this. Millions of people, like a raise at work or that the Packer’s will win. Millions of people think that when these things happen God’s responsible, while when a starving kid in the slums prays and gets nothing…this is just “god’s plan”. -Millions of people also say that prayer helped cure them or their love ones of disease -Hypothetical story Why is it that god cures the diseases or ailments with microscopic organisms causing it, but not the ones where if god helped, we would all see it? Why doesn’t he heal amputees. According to the bible, and to the claim that only worthy prayers are answered, if you pray for your friends severed arm to grow back it will happen. Why doesn’t it? Its because prayer doesn’t work. Prayer actually limits progress. If you say that god healed you, not chemotherapy and healthy choices, than your basically saying that new ways to fight cancer don’t need to be researched. God can cure people, why do we need to? Well, that’s enough about prayer. -I want to cover Christianity in a couple simple statements. -God has never left any physical evidence of his existence on earth. -None of Jesus' "miracles" left any physical evidence either. - God has never spoken to modern man, for example by taking over all the television stations and broadcasting a rational message to everyone. -The resurrected Jesus has never appeared to anyone. -The Bible is a primitive, immoral, illogical, and ridiculous book and is obviously the work of primitive men rather than a perfect God. -Huge, amazing atrocities like the Holocaust and AIDS occur without any response from God. -According to the bible, if your not Christian, even if you’re a 7 year old raised islam, you will BURN IN HELL. God is not loving, caring, he doesn’t give second chances, and he’s angry. Just read the bible. -Believing in Christianity and all other religions is basically throwing rat
What could be the cause behind Tsunami? What could be the cause behind Tsunami? (A laconic elucidation from Bible) Millions of people lost courage on December 26th, 2004. The entire mankind was horrified on the deep effect of Tsunami, which traumatized the whole world. It has become a burning issue discussed by the nations of the world. The death toll reached millions due to the effect. The same Tsunami hit the mankind 40 years ago and wiped out 35 thousand people. Though man is on his scientific and hi-tech journey, all his evaluations were unable to save the affected. Nations, government personnel and scientists are to be pitied for not guesstimating the sudden disaster. Though they have their scientific elucidation there is still more to be evaluated for the question, why they are engulfing the mankind? As a Bible literate I would like to give an apt answer for the above question, which is to be meticulously scrutinized because, though these intellectuals have eyes, ears and brains they are unable to delve into the strong reasons behind these calamities. Acts 13: 40-41 Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you: "'Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.'" If man stops looking at Bible with a religious glance and endeavors to understand the concepts in it he may be on the better way. Because of this serious situation among the mankind, to prove the authenticity of Bible I roar and throw my challenge at every intellect of the world to condemn my concepts in an open debate. But till this day none have dared to come before Bible but keeping themselves in a mummy and dummy stage. Man is very much worried about his future and is taking too much of precautions to save himself but alas! he is in vain. Though every city holds a fire fighters troop they can only arrive after the disaster and water the entire house and to fell down the burned walls. Dear reader if you are a caring person for you and your world then go through the entire topic, which gives you a clear truth regarding all these disaster targeting mankind. Today science is unaware of the precincts of the universe. Speaking about universe the Bible, creator of world says, “ Circle of Universe ”. It takes many more years for the modern science to know that the whole Universe is in a form of a sphere. From second century onwards Ptolemy and many more scientists explained the Geocentric Theory, which was set at naught by many modern scientists. For people like these I would like to give them a tit-for-tat treatment. Human body posses many internal organs among those Brain, Heart and Kidneys play a vital role in keeping man alive. If any of these organs are infected then such person may die of brain and heart attacks if neglected which ultimately results in death. It is to be understood that those organs are not centralized in one’s body and though they exist in various places of human body, their failure may lead the entire body to death. For this the organs are not literally needed to be located in the center of one’s body. In the same manner the whole universe is based on the environment of Earth. If anything worse happens to Earth that might destruct the entire universe. For these situations Earth may not practically be in the center of the universe. Damage to earth may damage the whole universe because the earth is the core for the entire creation. This theory was taught in Bible thousands of years ago before Christ. Amos 9:6 he who builds his lofty palace in the heavens and sets its foundation on the earth, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land- the LORD is his name. Job 38:33 Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up [God's] dominion over the earth? The above words justify the geocentric theory in judging the Earth as the key and foundation to the universe. Man living on this centralized Earth is to care for the creator and to lead his life in a safe way, which should not spoil the creation. Modern Science is cautioning many scientists and countries not to spoil the soil and environment. Man with his corrupted ideas is corrupting the system and the cycle of the environment. If any person is infected with fever he will not show interest in eating, drinking and pleasure living. In the same way the effected environment is infected with man’s explorations and is changing its path in giving a pleasant life to man. Man’s lust for new experiments made the environment to heat up resulting in the damage to the Ozone layer near Antarctic causing diseases to mankind. Due to the ultra violet rays streaming down directly towards the snow in those poles the ice is gradually melting causing the raise in the sea level which in turn causing floods and major disasters. In the year 2002 the glacier naming ‘Laurence B’ has melted and started to move towards the Antarctic Ocean. According to the analysis and satellite study the temperature on Earth is gradually increasing every year growing the sea level on earth. Due to the rise in temperature in 1995 and 2002 in Antarctica region many glaciers melted away. ‘Global warming’ is the word which we hear often these days. Man instead of knowing the reason behind his birth is analyzing the universe causing the Earth to warm up with his hectic experiments. If the entire universe is centralized on Earth then for whom the Earth is centralized? I have already given the answer for this question in my previous writing. “Is Man the Core of the Universe?” The entire creation including the Earth is made purely for Man because he is the image of God. The world exists today only for the sake of Man. Without man there is no universe, but man today has forgotten his Heavenly Father, the creator who created everything for the pleasure of his life. What punishment should be imposed on such people? Man has to inhabit the whole Earth and to utilize the fruits of it. He is to inhabit the whole earth according to the will of God. He has every right to delight himself out of its fruits. If man commits a mistake the law punishes him. If the law itself commits crime, then who will judge the law? God, after creating the creation made man and handed over him to the creation to feed His son what all he needs. If man himself departs God then whom would God order to punish him? After the effect of Tsunami modern science is taking only few precautions to save mankind but it cannot stop tsunami from appearing once again. This is a bare fact. Man has to change his way of life after such disasters but not new experiments to stop that. Heb 3:17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? Thousands and thousands of dead bodies flocked the cities and shores. All the dead bodies were cremated at once. The uproar reached the pinnacle. Many were buried in the sand itself Thailand and Malaysia are the most effected. Man cannot control the nature until he captures the heart of God. Jer 23:19-20 See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked. The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly. On Christmas Eve, 24th December when many are in busy celebrations disaster suddenly struck them. This disaster shook the countries like India, Srilanka. Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore etc. The disaster occurred in the sea, if this had occurred on land the death toll would have been much more. Jer 30:23-24 See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a driving wind swirling down on the heads of the wicked. The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand this. Recently news was heard on television that parents had murdered their own son and surrendered to police. The statement given by them was “ We want to make many to live happily by murdering our son for his behavior.” What does God do on looking today’s generation? Every human being is indulged in pleasure seeking life but no one is caring to know the will and mind of God. If man rebels on God then He may order the nature to bury him with fury. Luke 19:42-44 and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace-but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you." If man transforms his mind and deeds then God may also change his mind from punishing the mankind. In the beginning due to the disobedience of man towards God, He cursed the nature. The curse on man affected the nature. Gen 3:17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. If man disobeys God nature rebels against him. Jer 5:21-25 Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear: Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD. "Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it. But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away. They do not say to themselves, 'Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.' Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good. Man is surrounded by 3/4th of water. All the boundaries are not of cement but only sand. God made boundaries to 1/4th land with sand so that sea may not cross its boundary set forth by God. He ordered the sand to save his children from the water but not to engulf them. But today the sea has crossed its boundary and penetrated dry land to cover them with water partially. It is not a big deal for the 3/4th of water to cover the entire human and submerge them in sea if God permits. The nature obeys the word of God and acts as a protector but if he disobeys God it becomes a destroyer. Man is not caring for God but is high on heels denying God. If man refuses to comply then what does God do? Amos 5:8-9 (he who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns blackness into dawn and darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land- the LORD is his name- he flashes destruction on the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin), Ps 104:7-9But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth. Job 26:12 By his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces. Isa 51:15 For I am the LORD your God, who churns up the sea so that its waves roar--the LORD Almighty is his name. Jer 31:35 This is what the LORD says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar--the LORD Almighty is his name: By all the above verses it is very clear that God rebukes His children with nature when they disobey. If nature rebels on man where can he run and hide himself? Though he is more technologically advanced he cannot save himself from the ferocity of nature. Once God destroyed the whole world with water on seeing the wickedness of man and grieved in His heart. He wiped away the entire human race saving only 8 out of them. Gen 6:5, 17 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 17 I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. Acts 7:4 "So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After the death of his father, God sent him to this land where you are now living. 2 Peter 2:5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; God pays for the wickedness of man with a disciplinary action. Without knowing the exact cause for the calamity science is under experimentation to know the reason of disaster. Man instead of estimating these disasters as wrath of God is adjusting himself as natural calamities. With his minimal knowledge man is explaining Tsunami as the tuning of tectonic plates but never searches himself whether he is in tune with God or not. Volcanic eruptions, floods, earthquakes are defined as natural calamities by man but not as the wrath of God on all His disobedient children. All the learned and unlearned has to accept these words. Now I would like to bring to your notice the marveling word of God unveiling the secrets of universe. Read these words with the eyes of understanding and be enlightened to experience the riches and abundance of the word of God. Now-a-days majority of population in the Christian world have not yet enlightened their minds to know these facts but are confined to the four walls of the church worshipping their lord for an hour or two once in a week. They may not know the worth of truth even if we offer Bible classes at a free of charge. A Bible intellect can evaluate the exact reason for every catastrophe trouncing mankind from the birth of universe. For every disease in a human body these would be a strong reason behind it, in the same way there also might be a strong reason behind for the destruction of Tsunami. To know the exact reason we have to research on the changes that occur in the nature. If a body is infected with a disease, doctor force the patient to undergo many testes to give him the correct cure. The same procedure has to be considered for the universe to know the reason for the calamity. This Biblical explanation in finding the reason for the calamities is to be studied by all the nations, their personnel, scientists and the intellectual society. To protect our only Earth from such catastrophes, seminars are to be conducted by the Bible scholars, which are to be attended by all the intelligentsia of the world. If this does not happen the entire universe may explode to ashes. Today’s modern man is very relaxed that though the earth may explode he is preparing to live on Moon or Mars purchasing flats over there. All such crazy people have to note an important point i.e., as the earth baring the government of the entire universe, if blown up, collapses the entire universe. We all know about diabetic patients. If that disease strikes at toe, it must be removed and if neglected it passes to leg, but if it enters the body then no medicine can save such person. The same way if the earth is infected and destroyed then it might be a danger to the entire universe. So, at present the earth being infected has to be treated carefully. Luke 21:25-26 "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Ps 18:7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. Judg 5:4 "O LORD, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the land of Edom, the earth shook, the heavens poured, the clouds poured down water. Isa 13:13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. By all of the above verses it is very clear that the entire universe is interconnected. Any happenings on earth may influence the powers in the universe. Any actions in universe may ultimately affect the earth. When there are signs in Sun, Moon and Stars then the nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of sea occurs on earth. There is an unseen interaction between the earth and sun, sun and stars, stars and galaxies and galaxies and universe. If the world realizes and comes to the Bible after the Tsunami then they may find a way to shun such disasters. The earthly knowledge has to get down few steps and prostrate before the heavenly knowledge to save the world and all the human beings. Please go through few of the Bible references. Ps 148:1-6 Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created. He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away. Jer 31:35, 37 This is what the LORD says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar--the LORD Almighty is his name: 37 This is what the LORD says: "Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done," declares the LORD. The unseen forces between the earth and the universe govern the entire creation. Every defect on earth is only the result of man. Since man being the core of the entire universe for its creation is also liable for its destruction. Every wrong step of man is affecting the earth and the forces within. Every country in the world upholds navy, military and air force to protect them. In the same way the whole universe is governed and protected by various invisible forces within it. Without proper government no society could be run properly. Atheists among the world have to carefully note down this point that no train, bus or aeroplane can run by itself unless the crew drives it. The entire universe cannot run by itself so there is an unseen power, which drives the whole world. To see that power their eyes of brain have to be enlightened by the word of God. Eph 1:17-20 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms. Man with his half-baked knowledge is rejecting the existence of the Almighty. The reason for this is 2 Cor 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. It is all nothing but blowing a trumpet before a deaf person. Now let us study the various unseen forces within the universe. Sun: - It takes 25 days, 9 hours and 7 minutes for the sun to take one rotation. It revolves around the Milky Way galaxy with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The calculation for the sun to take a revolution in its orbit is estimated as 0.25 billion years, which is called as a cosmic year. Planets Mercury: - It takes 58 days, 15 hours, 30 minutes and 34 seconds for one rotation. It revolves around the sun 88 days with a speed of 1 lack 76 thousand kilometers per hour. Venus: - For a rotation it takes 243 hours, 14 minutes and 225 days for a revolution. Earth: - For a rotation 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4,091 seconds (1 day) and 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 45.51 seconds (1 year) for a revolution. Mars: - For a rotation it takes 24 hours, 37 minutes and 22.633 seconds and 687 days for a revolution. Jupiter: - For a rotation it takes 9 hours, 50 minutes and 30 seconds and 4332.62 days for a revolution. Saturn: - For a rotation it takes 10 hours, 14 minutes and 10759.06 days for a revolution. Uranus: - For a rotation it takes 16 hours, 10 minutes and 30707.79 days for a revolution. Neptune: - For a rotation it takes 18 hours 26 minutes and 60199.63 days for a revolution. Pluto: - For a rotation it takes 6 days, 9 hours and 18 minutes and 248.54 years for a revolution When we look at the pace of visible and invisible matter starting from planets to galaxies they all are running in their orbits and are governed by the super natural power. Vehicles driven by man are always delayed whereas the planetary and the starry hosts of the universe are never late and are accurate in their arrivals and departures. Lazy man has to know all these rotations and revolutions to know the power of Almighty who safeguards His beloved ones. All the starry hosts are run not by the power of man but by the supremacy of God. Man is interested to know the news and happenings all around the world daily in the morning but never reads Bible to know the hidden secrets of the universe. This topic must be eye opener to all such blind people. Heb 6:5-8 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. Even the believers are searching Christ and God only for their carnal pleasures but never estimate the power of Christ in proving His existence. Col 1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 1 Peter 3:22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand-with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. Rom 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Cor 15:24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. Eph 1:20-21 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Christ is invincible in controlling the power existing in the universe. By His lordship the entire creation is bound and governed by His laws. If such all-powerful Christ is denied then a catastrophe may hit the mankind to know his fury. What are these Powers? : - Within no time the disaster struck the people creating chaos all around the effected cities. Geographical boundaries of areas have been changed. Dec 26th 2004 has become a tragic day in the history of mankind. Thousands and thousands have lost their lives. The Tsunami left its trails after its effect. 1. Two huge icebergs hit one another causing harm to Penguins. 2. North pole moved towards east Siberia to a distance of 2.5 cms. 3. The earths pace in rotation caused delay in speed up to 2.68 microseconds. 4. The effect of Tsunami caused vibrations for few weeks extending 20 – 30 cms. 5. The Tsunami changed the Geographical outlook of Asian continent permanently. Few islands have moved nearly 20 meters. The changes in heavenly bodies cause the Earth to change its outlook. The above examples are few of them. Though man is hit by such disaster he never tends to change his heart towards God but still take pleasure in denying the laws of God. Rom 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Rev 6:14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Bible explained the reasons for such halaucosts, which engulf man. But man never turns his heart towards God and pleads to save him from such situations. He never corrects his way and pleases God to show love towards him. Man instead of correcting is preparing future plans to save himself from Mega Tsunami. Until he changes his mind Metropolitan cities will be transformed into forests and graveyards. I warn these people in advance to bow down before the Lord to be shown grace and mercy because He is the only protector and annihilator. Our heavenly Father is feeding every man with those powers and if rebelled He orders the same forces to destroy him. Isa 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! Isa 14:16-17 Those who see you stare at you, they ponder your fate: "Is this the man who shook the earth and made kingdoms tremble, the man who made the world a desert, who overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?" Joel 2:3 Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the Garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste- nothing escapes them.
