Which high definition television should I purchase?

I would like to purchase an HDTV within the next year, something with a 40 to 50 inch screen. My price range is $2000.00 or less. Does anyone have any recommendations?

1. Get a panasonic, we just got one and i think it has one of the best if not the best picture. I dont know the model or anything but any panasonics good.
2. I just got a SONY XBR4, 40 inch. It was $1999 when I got it and the picture quality is fantastic ! You cant go wrong with SONY and it has the 120 hz refresh rate so there is no lag with Sports programs.
