Latest Television

High Definition Television one of the biggest flukes of technology this century?

I am wondering if I should buy into the hype of HD TV. What is so different from the usual viewing of T.V. and DVD's?

  1. WASTE OF MONEY !!!
  2. it looks better but not by much but u mine as well get 1 cause soon they're makin it so that you have to have an hdtv or a cable box that has those capabilities of hd cause in like 09 or 2010 or somethin like that that's all they'll be viewing tv in is high defintion so..... i mean if you were 2 have a brand new regular tv & a brand new hdtv at the same size u would see a difference as far as a more crisp picture but it wouldn't be a big difference. now if u had a 360 or ps3 i would definitely reccommend one cause it's a lot better when playin the game with an hdtv but overall would reccommend one cause soon the only thing anybody will have is hdtv's & better 2 get 1 now & not have to worry about gettin 1 for a while
  3. It looks a lot better if you can get a signal of HDTV that carries programs generated in HDTV. DVDs will look better than in a regular TV set... if generated in HDTV mode. Meanwhile, you're going to see a lot of analog stuff that will look pixelated because the signal is analog and low definition. And you'll pay for 100 channels in HDTV but only a couple are generated in HDTV. All the others are converted somewhere in the way to your house and the quality is pretty much the same you get in your regular TV set. If you want to see stuff in HDTV (assuming you have access to that stuff, my DVD can't handle it and there's no HDTV cable service here yet), it makes sense. But don't expect everything to look a lot better the minute you plug it in. You're going to be disappointed.
