Do you have to have a High Definition television for the playstation 3 and does it have to be a flatscreen?

- It's better to have HDTV, but you can hook PS3 to a standard TV. Graphics are still amazing.
- you do not have to get an hd tv for the ps3 because it comes with a composite cable, regular red, yellow, and white cords that have come with the ps2 and almost every other console. although you don't have to it would be a very smart investment because without an hd tv the ps3 will just look somewhat better than a ps2. buy an hdtv with an hdmi or component cable and you truly will use the ps3 to its highest potential. oh and hdtv's are only flatscreens so i guess it would have to be flatscreen.
- no you dont, But it looks good though
- You can hook up the PS3 to any TV you like but in order to get HD resolutions (720p or 1080p) you need an HDTV. And all HDTV's are flat-screen the question is if they are flat-PANEL (meaning if the BACK of the TV is flat). And this makes no difference to the PS3--my PS3 is hooked up to a non-flat-panel screen (the Sony KDS-60A3000). The only difference flat-panel makes is if you will be able to mount the TV on the wall or not. Hope I helped!
- No I use my PS3 on both a regular tv and high definiton.
- No, It doesn't need to be a high defintion tv flatscreen. For my opinoin is I have a Sony LCD High Defintion flatscreen 1080p Tv And it is awesome with high graphic and sound effect . If you have standard tv in Feb 19 2009 only digital channel is go to be their so that's why go buy a flatscreen tv because regular channel are not going to be their anymore.
