i have a non high definition television (sharp 32f630) but i have the component hookups in the back of the t.v
i was wondering if i get a high definition cable box will i get high definition and if not, will the standerd stations improve. and finally if i wont get high defintion then why do i have those component hookups. thanks

- It has those so that you can plug in high definition, but it won't quite display high definition on your tv, but it will make widescreen movies look slightly better i think. And answerer below me I think is actually right, sorry if i gave wrong info.
- The TV's component inputs are for a DVD player. DVDs generally look better via component. An HD cable box will not magically turn your TV into an HDTV, nor will it make SD channels look better.
