i have a non high definition television (sharp 32f630) but i have the component hookups in the back of the t.v

i was wondering if i get a high definition cable box will i get high definition and if not, will the standerd stations improve. and finally if i wont get high defintion then why do i have those component hookups. thanks

1. It has those so that you can plug in high definition, but it won't quite display high definition on your tv, but it will make widescreen movies look slightly better i think. And answerer below me I think is actually right, sorry if i gave wrong info.
2. The TV's component inputs are for a DVD player. DVDs generally look better via component. An HD cable box will not magically turn your TV into an HDTV, nor will it make SD channels look better.
