If I have HDMI inputs, does that mean my TV is a High Definition Television?

  1. most likely.. check your manual and see the supported resolutions.. if it can do 720p 1080i or 1080p then it is an hdtv.
  2. it depends. TV's are typically classified as EDTV (enhanced-definition) HDTV (high definition) and the "new" standard FHDTV (full high definition). Usually it works like this, EDTV's are capable of resolutions up to 720P, HDTV's are capable of resolutions up to 1080i and finally FHDTV's are capable of resolutions up to the current max of 1080P. Basically these numbers are similar to digital cameras the higher the megapixels the sharper and less fuzzy the picture is. You will have to find out what resolution your TV is capable of displaying. I suggest you "google" or should I say "Yahoo" your TV's model #. Just type your TV's model# into your internet browser and you should be able to find out the specs on it if you don't have a manual. On a side note, most high-definition TV channels broadcast in 720P and a few in 1080i. None that I know of are broadcasting in 1080P yet so until TV studios upgrade you will be just fine with an EDTV.
  3. No it does not mean you have an HDTV, but check user manual and that will tell you. Ummmmm..... For the dude above me. EVERY TV that can display 720p can do 1080i. The only things broadcasting in 1080p are HD movies and Video games because it is not cost efficient to broadcast a signal that most TV's on the market can't handle. A majority of 1080p TV's can't even handle the signal. They just up-convert 720p.
  4. yes it does. you use the hdmi inputs to connect an hd cable box, blue ray player, hd dvd player or something like that to your tv and the hdmi cable is what sends the hd signal from these hd prosucts to your hd tv
  5. Yes,of course it is.....HDMI stands for HIGH DEFINITION Multimedia Interface and they wouldn't put it on a Low Definition TV set..... They never have and never will.... So these guys above me saying MAYBE..?!....well, they should know better than that !
