what importance does the screen have on the projection of a high definition t.v.?
I wiped the screen of my 57" high definition television with a lens cloth and alot of the protectant on the screen came off. Can this cause any damage to the function of my tv??

- Not to the actual functionality of the TV and projector system, but if I undestand correctly, it seems like you used an abrasive substance to clean it and it ate away at the antireflective layer of the screen. So now sometimes youll probably see a glare on the TV, or the picture might look a little different. But as it goes for the inside of the TV its all good.
- not necessarily. from my understanding, protectant is put on a screen to insure that other things don't stain it. i would be careful and make sure to use only a DRY cloth to wipe it at all now. remember that even a damp cloth can damage a screen with no protectant!
- Not really....that's an anti-glare coating you wiped off..... You'll see it with the TV turned off....But that's not how you watch TV.... I've seen the anti-glare coating come off of other sets..So, stop using Windex and switch to Radio Shack's $20 Monster Screen Cleaner Kit. Save yourself the $400 you would need to replace that screen. Like I said it won't affect TV watching...
