I recently purchased a Sony HCR H-3 high definition camcorder. If I set the menu to HDTV or auto the camera y

will replay only in the digital mode and not high definition. Does anyone know why and if so how to fix the problem?

1. Set your camcorder to hd mode. hdtv is only if you want to view the info on your camera in high def. mode it will show a better resolution on your Tv. if your TV. is not HD ready then it will automaticaly switch to digital mode to acommodate your TV's resolution it will not go higher if your TV is not HD. Auto mode will choose the digital mode automatically. keep your camcorder in hd mode for replay options or shooting mode. basically you have to tell it what you want it to do. you were just letting it choose before. If your going to watch what you recorded make sure your TV is compatible with HD. You have the best camcorder option sony has the best HD products so far to date and parts and service are easy to obtain here in the US
