What would be the best software to use with Sony HD camcorder model HDR-SR7?

Hello all I recently purchased a Sony high definition handycam camcorder model HDR-SR7 N i did soot some video now I need a software so I can edit them cut them n put some greet effect on it n I am totally new on this so please please guys help me what would be the best software to do this? THANKS

1. HD video is an advanced technology. HD editing need powerful software, such as Adobe premier pro 2. You have to upgrade your hardware too. I.e. more speedy processor, display card, higher RAM and many more. Why not start with normal DV editing first, before further to HDV.
