Canon HG10 vs Sony HDR-SR5?

Hey Experts Kindly help me to choose the best High Definition Camcorder with Harddisk. Most of the purpose would be indoor, to capture my son's activities. I can go upto $1000. Would appreciate if any current users of either Sony or Canon inform thier issues or recommend any of the above mentioned models. Canon HG10 seems to be a good bet. Both have 40GB /10X optical / Image stabilization. Thankyou Naveen

1. Both of them are good and you won't regret getting either. If you want to split hair, HG10 would be the way to go :-) HG10 will perform better in low light situation but a Sony with light mounted on top would do the job as well :-) HG10 is also just a little bit sharper as compared to the Sony. Sony has punchy colors that consumers like while Canon is very true to natural colors that appeal to prosumers more.
