Sony HDR-HC3E and storage media?
I'm considering a Sony HDR-HC3E camcorder, which uses HDV (Mini DV) to store video. If I want to save my videos in High Definition on a different media, am I restricted to using Bluray? Or is HDDVD-discs still an option as the storage media for my high.def. videos recorded on the HDR-HC3E?

- You can store your videos on any media with enough space to hold the files. If you have a high def video in AVI, MOV, MP4, WMV or any other format, you can burn it to a standard 4.7GB or 8.5GB DVD as a data disk, just like you would any other file. Blu-ray obviously has more storage capacity at 25GB per single layer disk, but for short projects, standard DVDs are a cheap and viable solution. There are no HD-DVD burners as of yet, but ff you want to author an HD-DVD, apps like Pinnacle support burning HD-DVD file formats to standard DVDs as described in this tutorial: http://www.jakeludington.com/hddvd/20070306_hddvd_authoring_for_home_movies.html
