What to look for when buying a high definition tv.?
Im looking to get a high definition tv for the first time and Im not sure what I should be looking for. My budget is around $1000 and Im hoping to get something 38" or larger. Ive seen the Olevia brand tvs at Target and the price and size are right, but concerned with quality. So, if you could recomend a few differnt brand names that are in that same price and size range. Thanks! :)

- look for resolution, i would not buy anything not capable of 1080p. speed is also very important, the faster the better. get one with as many hdmi inputs as possible. i bought a westinghouse 37inch lcd w3, 11months ago for 1200 bucks. price was about average. i am very satisfied with it. but an hdtv is like a computer, gigo. if you don't have a good input you will not see the difference, unless, you are buying for the future. 1080p models are not that much more expensive than the 720p models, but they are worth it. good luck.
- Samsung, JVC and westinghouse has good hdtv. I would look Bestbuy.com, Circuitcity.com or HSN.com. On HSN, you can find the best brands of hdtvs and get them on flexpay. Flexpay means you can either pay for them monthly or all at once. Its better that way if you dont want to pay for it all at once or if you are on a budget. HDTVs can be pretty exspensive these days.
- Try Hitachi, Toshiba, Phillips...or Samsung. Don't try Visio, ILO, Olevia, Polaroid or Westinghouse.... No parts, no service centers located nearby....
- flat screens
