What do you think of tv commercials in general?

I find 90% of them very annoying, so I have to press the "mute" button everytime during a commercial break. Thank goodness for the mute button. Especially those cheap ones that shout at you like you're dumb or deaf or somethng - you know the type: only $99.99. There are occasionally great ones, entertaining and smartly produced, but most of the stuff is BS. However, I'd like to know how you handle tv commercials.

Any time...Better than any of the typical Indian SAAS BAHU (mother in law - Daughter in law) serials from any Indian channels.... Good things is that they convey whatever they want to just in a few seconds... They don't eat too much footage...
After a while, I either flip through channels to see what else is on, or I totally ignore the commercials and go do something else, like get a snack or a drink while they're on. I have to admit, there are some that crack me up no matter how many times I see them. It just depends on a person's opinion, I guess. You like some that other people might dislike.
They pay for the show I want to watch, so that I can watch it for free. I am ok with commercials because some are entertaining. Even though I pay for cable TV access, the show itself I don't pay for. If I am watching somethng I have taped, I can zip thru the commercials and it cuts time watching a show. It gives me a chance to get a snack or go to the loo, and gives me a break.
many commercials are so surreal and so aggressive in their attempts to appeal to the viewer that i just have to roll my eyes and give my head a shake...advertising is a very bizarre thing...
