Why do infants and toddlers love to watch TV commercials?

I observed this to my nephews and nieces everytime I watch TV with them. They know that it is TV commercial time. They even smile and excited if there are kids in the commercial. Their favorites are the hotdog and baby products ads.

1. Because of the little songs they put in the commercials. Those are meant to catch the kids' attention.

3. There have been years of research and development and untold fortunes spent on the techniques of tv ads. Its called "marketing". Sometimes the commercial is better than the program. It depends on the target market of that product being pitched.
4. I've noticed that as well & my theory would be that commercials nowadays just look more enticing for kids w/ all the graphics & music. & because a kids attention span isn't that long, they like commercials because every 15 secs something new comes up.
5. Infants and toddlers, even teens are attracted to bright colors they see especially those on tv. Bright colors transfer positive energy that triggers the "joy" feeling. Plus the lively music and sound that can add excitement, hence the smile that you see on children's faces. The presence of children on commercial is is also an added attraction. Children loves seeing their peers along with those bright images.. The adults are no longer interested in it because they already know it's kids stuff.
