Can Internet Video replace TV commercials?

If you're advertising online, you have two new possibilities. 1-You can target your visitors 2-You can place commercials online So if you can get real targeted visitors, real prospects, and you can show them your product on video, would you cut on your TV budget? If the video is effective in making visitors buy, would you cut on your TV budget? Or is it that now small companies can use internet videos instead of buying expensive TV airtime? Your opinions are very welcome.

  5. I'm probably not the person to answer this question because I don't play video games, but hey let me give you my opinion on this topic: You didn't mention who is the target audience. However, I'll give you this, if the target audience are not "gamers" or "game heads" then you should know what most people would be watching on "TV". But regardless I still think ads on TV works. For gamers it should work better getting those ads in between the cartoons. Chao.
  6. It largely depends on where your target market is most likely to be. If they're more likely to be online then sure, online video adverts could effectively place old school television ads. BUT if you're trying to target couch potatoes in front of the tv, unless they're surfing the web from their couch, you're simply not going to be effective in your promotions. In the future, web video may well prove more effective than tv ads. Only time can really tell as behaviour and habits change or stay the same. Effective promotion is ultimately about getting the right message, through the right channels, in front of the right people at the right time.
  7. No, that could never happen because people will never stop watching television and there are a lot of people out there that do not have a computer.
  8. The last mile into our homes wont have enough bandwidth to support all that we will want to do via our internet connections at home!! so i said no internet wont replace tv commercials!!
