Will an analog tv if used as a monitor to play dvds work with a dvd player after going digital in 2009?

And also, will a vcr work? I'm talking about a regular dvd player and without doing anything special. No cable tv. Cause I have tons of dvds and vhs tapes and don't like regular tv shows.

  1. Don’t worry too much about it. If you have a TV that works now with your DVD player, it will still work when the off-air stations go all digital. It just won’t be able to pick up and decode those digital off-air stations. There will likely be a few interface boxes that will decode the digital signal and convert it to an analog signal that will be playable on older sets. No promises that you’ll be able to get a replacement in case of failure.
