  1. If it does I am not aware of it
  2. I only watch some shows to see what they're wearing and see if it looks good and what styles are in
  3. the tv doesnt influence me at all.
  4. i try not to let it influence me, but the geico caveman is an inspiration lol jk
  5. i rely on tv to tell me my opinions
  6. When a person is younger I feel television influences a persons life tremedously. However, as one matures, we tend to have stronger opinions and don't care as much what others think. TV use to be about the imagination. Now everything is written about and talked about so little is left to the imagination. Sort of like waiting to get a letter in the mail. These days people don't know as much about waiting. They can click send on a computer and get mail within seconds. My parents use to tell me the anticipation is what made things exciting.
  7. The ooze does have some influence. I am aware of this influence. Many people are not at all aware. Anorexia!!!!???? Not much of THAT going on. Look around.
  8. i wouldn't say that television influences any of my decisions and ideas about life, but i will say that television can dispose me to feelings of agreement, indifference, or disgust. television can definitely change my mood, but i believe the influences in my life come from precursors far more complex than the media... i would say the environment i place myself in as well as my predispositions that were set in place through the genes that were passed on to me shapes the majority of the decisions and ideas about life.... values come from cultural upbringing, the media just provokes us to certain attitudes based on its conflict and/or agreement with our beliefs. i hope i wasn't too philosophical!
  9. Have you even LOOKED at my avatar?!
  10. i watch a lot of the medical channel it only gives me things to think about, i always make my own decisions.
  11. its tv i just watch i don't relate it to my own life. only unstable people let it affect their lives
  12. i go to subway more often
  13. I'm not really aware, but I do know that being thin like models isn't something tv can influence me on.
  14. TV doesn't influence my life at all. I find most programs to stupid for words, like Dharma and Greg.
  15. i dont let TV control or influence me in anyway whatsoever................... im the one holding the remote remember !!
  16. yup, sometimes if you watch a good drama tv and sometimes my wrting too. the bad thing about tv was when you pretend to be someone else according to the some character.
  17. sometimes when I watch really violent shows it reminds me that... I am not crazy.
  18. I only watch reruns of favorite shows. I do not watch the news or the do-it-yourself and -then-call-an-expert-anyway shows . I used to watch the cooking channel until my butt became the size of a barcalounger because of the recipes I was learning. Now I do (or try to) Pilates, run a small retail company on the web and answer questions here. I am sick to death of the commercials on daytime TV that force you to pay attention by using ear splitting sound and eyeball spinning images. The worst thing about TV is the obvious brainwashing it employs! I prefer the internet and my hubby.
  19. It definatly does effect me alot...and i hate that it does....ever seen americas next top model? i'm sure girls have become anorexic over watching that show and wanting to be like them...pretty, popular, successful and they look so hapy and gorgeous...who wouldn't want that? so girls turn to anorexia to get themselves there....anyways, i'm just rambling about my opinion...whats yours? hope this helps! :)
  20. I am a person who is affected by what I see and hear very strongly, so I do think what I watch makes a big difference. I am picky about the drama I watch, because the wrong kind is deeply disturbing to me. I figure, I have enough emotion of my own, I don't need help bringing it out, lol! It's also hard, watching absolutely gorgeous people on tv, and realize it is just that--tv--not real people or real life. It's too easy to compare myself to the women on tv and feel bad. So, yes, I'm careful what I watch. What is the worst thing about tv? I think it's probably the violence, nudity, and language that is portrayed as totally normal. Maybe it is becoming that way, but I see no reason why we have to see these kinds of things to be entertained. I also do not watch news. It's very biased, and very negative. You don't hear the good stuff that happens around the world very much, and there are still good things happening...And I like to focus on the positive, good, wholesome things in life...so I try to watch things that are uplifting too, as well as entertaining...
  21. I now rely heavily on text votes and the opinions of three annoying people to let me know how well (or not so well) I performed on a date...
  22. I get fashion and make-up influences from TV, but I don't have the desire to look sick just because so many of our celebrities are doing that. I have a mind of my own because my mother taught me to have a mind, but some girls don't know to love themselves first so they look to the women on TV for influences and it isn't always a good influence.
