  1. Many Americans also watch British programming simply because it is in English. There is a language barrier to the other programs.
  2. Some American's do watch British TV too cause of language. A lot of American's don't watch British TV because British humor is significantly different from American humor
  3. One: there's not much foreign television shown here in the U.S. Two: Have you met every single American to come to that conclusion? I LOVE foreign television, and frequently TiVo British and Spanish television.
  4. um...maybe b/c American TV is in English....like British TV....BIG DUH....if I understood different languages then maybe I'll watch other thin
  5. Well, while I mostly watch US television, I DO sometimes watch British and Australian movies, shows and documentaries. I usually quite enjoy them, but they are not readily available here. As for the other programming there is a language barrier, since Americans (well most of us born here) speak English.
  6. A la gran puchica, Because that's all we have! Not all of us are fortunate to have a million channels worth of cable like you guys!! No nos heche la culpa ha nosotros, hechale la culpa ha las estaciones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Um, we watch shows that are British. Why would we watch shows from Latin America--they are not dubbed in English or have english subtitles? We are an English speaking country! Maybe if there were subtitles or voice overs, we would watch them. By the way, I regularly watch Japanese TV shows, but only because I am learning Japanese and can find Japanese shows with English subtitles.
  8. Do you know every American in the country? No. Therefore you cannot make generalizations. Most Americans don't watch other countries' news stations because of a language barrier. Personally, it doesn't matter if I understand or not, I enjoy watching Asian news in Chinese, Japanese, Tagalog, and Thai.
  9. One cannot answer this question because the meaning of 'American' isn't clear: - A person or attribute of South or North America - A person or attribute of the indigenous peoples of South or North America - A citizen or attribute of the ’United States of America’: the political correct term is 'US-American' Which 'Americans' do you mean? From North or South America? And from which country in one of theese 2 continents called 'America'? 'American' for 'US-American' is politically not correct
  10. Most of the people from USA, and I live here, only watch TV from USA, obviously because there is a language barrier to the other channels. However, some of them, and I have known a few of those, they like to watch channels in Spanish, they have told me that those channels are even better than what they used to watch. Maybe because the got tired of the same TV series and we offer different programs.
