Do you think a reality TV show is really this important?

I think this is a decision made by others Emma will never get over. BB housemate in dark over father's death The father of Big Brother housemate Emma has been buried, but she has yet to be told he's died. Raymond Cornell, 53, died of cancer in Adelaide, and his funeral was held on Monday. Emma's boyfriend Tim Stanton has told News Limited that Mr Cornell had asked that his daughter not be told of his death until she left the house. "Her dad didn't want her to be upset or to feel like she had to leave the house to come to his funeral," Mr Stanton said. "He didn't want to ruin the experience for her. She might be upset when she comes out and finds out what has happened, but I think she'll understand." Mr Stanton and his daughter, who lives in Sydney, had reportedly been estranged for several years, but had been back in contact before she went into the house a month ago. A Big Brother spokesman would not comment, News Ltd said. Contestants in the often controversial show are cut off from the outside world until they are voted off.

  1. I think she will be more upset if she learns that her father died AFTER the show. I mean, she might have trust issues because she wasn't told once it happened, regardless of whether or not her father wanted her to know at the time. I know if that happened, I would think "I was playing games while he was dying...I was fighting with girls on a TV show while my family was crying..."
  2. I think she should have been told, although Daddy didn't want to ruin her time in the house he's a lovely Dad , but the daughter will be very heartbroken she could not be there to farewell her Dad so I dont know, the Dad would have been drugged up & not thinking clearly maybe I say Dad is more important than big brother house big brother should always let people out for a funeral & let them back in if they want back in
  3. I agree its ridculous the TV show was thought of before Emma was... Although she was estranged from her Father and in her 'package' she made before going in to the show she said 'I recently found out my father is dying of cancer...I tried to make contact...basically he wasnt interested...I tried' Its sad that television was put before human emotion and have taken away Emma's choice to say her final goodbyes at his funeral but Emma knew the end wasnt far but still chose to go in the house.
