How would you attempt to improve the view of Americans by other countries?

Not every one likes or respects "America". Yet, in this ever growing globalizing-connecting world, each country is growing interdepent on each other, while the reconition that every American, German, or Russian PERSON is becoming increasingling independent of relying on the resouces and ideology with in thier country is not always being reconized, how can America (USA), better show that while they are a high profile country, not every thing that is on the news/tv represents the reality and views of all americans, with out taking away freedom of the press?

Our government is very arrogant and this pisses off most everybody else. The jerks in Washington need to practice a little humility
First start off by impeaching the president and then kick his minions out of office. Next lets do something about the about the religious right and let them know that their opinion is great for themselves and others that are taught to think the same. Finally, start a rebirth of what it is to be American in the US and the rest of the world. Out with the hypocrisy.
One way or the other the different cultures will look at an other and either be envious, disgusted or sighhhh....For example the French didn't think it was big deal the Clinton had a little hanky panky in the oval office but when Bush used God in a speech they went up in flames. So one way or an other countries views will be shaped by their own culture. However I think it would nice that if some of our local news cast were international. Right now all the world sees is our Govt, Military, hurricane news or that fake stuff from Hollywood. Never see how that local boy/girl raised thousands of dollars for the tsunami victims by selling kool-aid, or how that 78 year lady went back to college. I think the perception of the everyday American would go a long way for more understanding between us all.
It doesn't matter what the US does, because the ignorant people in other countries believe that the US government is the only one that lies and is corrupt, and they believe their own governments are honest and trustworthy. The same goes for the media, they think everything they are told is true. Ever notice how if the US helps another nation, the US is "budding in" but if they do not help, the US is "ignoring those in need"? The US should help its own and stop ignoring those in need within.
