How did TV become retarded & socially backwards?

When I have time, I check out comedy, football, nature & maybe a movie. But clicking thru channels-most of it is either for women or for social retards. *** There's vomiting, being a jerkoff, harrassing others (which is called shock tv) & "reality tv." Which is where a bunch of spoiled *ssholes get together to lie & f*ck over others. BTW, did anyone notice suddenly the news suddenly has great looking women on every channel. Is that because it's so biased today? Why is TV "teaching" younger adults that it's cool to lie and bad ethics is in? Since humans learn faster via audio visual, I'd think TV would have some kind of responsibility...towards society other than grabbing as much advertising $$ as possible. Psst message to TV execs, if we are supposedly fighting extreme Muslims who say USA is a deplorable culture, why do YOU egg them on with such distastful crud? ***ah the Politically Correct word Nazis will hate me now...!

11. TV has always been retarded, a quick viewing of "My Mother the Car" or "Matchgame 77" will prove that it was always retarded. Once in a while good programming will come out of it but is has always been a rarity

13. I like to think that there are such programs on the show because ratings show people do watch this stuff so it is frightening to see what they watch. However, like you said, when you are someone like yourself that only turns on the Tv for the occasional thing but usually dont watch, then what you have left are people that DO watch the stupid shows and they are the ones that TV companies focus on. Lets hope smart people dont watch TV 8/7.

18. I think it started when Madison Avenue got a foothold on it. First it was just commercials, then the programing became advertising. Add to the mix biased political views and it's become brainwashing. Why do people raise their kids on the tube? It's totally irrelevant yet millions plunk their fat carcasses down in front of it every night. It doesn't happen in my household. My motto is, " Turn off the TV. Live your own life." By setting an example for my kids, TV is not an important part of their lives. They do things. They make their own music. They are creative in art and writing. They learn. TV IS the dumbing down of America. It's not just the politically correct crowd using it for their agenda. The attack comes from all sides depending who owns which network. Do you enjoy the (revisionist) History channel. Is it co-incidence that their programming reflects political agendas? Is not all of the "End of the World" programming on the so called educational channels just fanning the flames of fear in an already fearful and confused public. Turn the F-ing thing off and enjoy the life you were given.

Jesus should be on every channel and only state run fox news should be aloud on TV. Oh, yes and all anchors should be ugly old white men. It's the only way to save America for the evil empire.
