What is the difference be high definition and blue-disc that they advertise the new movies on?

You hear the ads say that the movies are now on DVD and on high definition. What is that?

Well the hd format no longer exist although there are still movies that are around which are hd.Blue Ray is now the only format of high definition dvds therefore you wont see any new dvd movies coming out with hd except the blueray hd format.So the only hd movies now or the ones you see will be blueray high definition.It cost alot more to buy or rent blueray discs and you need to have a blue ray dvd player to be able to play them.You can however use the blue ray dvd player to play regular dvds and it will upconvert the movie to a better clarity and close to hd.Hope that helps.So ,you can still buy regular dvds as well as in HD format if you have a Blueray dvd player.
