High definition-Standard definition-Which is the best to get maximum good quality video recording and view-how?

I have sony HD SR 10 camcorder-I want to get good results in video capturing and viewing in Sony DVD player. I have purchased the Handy cam in USA and I am using the same in India-Pl advice

1. you can record in HD but you have to have a HD player to be able to watch in HD. Recording in HD and down converting to SD will give good results.
2. If u have HD player as wel as TV then u capture in hd otherwise SD is better for best results
