Buying a direct tv receiver box and card from ebay, will it work at home?

I already have direct tv at my house but only for one TV and I would like to have another box so i my wife can watch it in another room. I found some on ebay with a access card and was thinking about buying it but will direct tv charge me extra monthly? Do I need to tell them I bought new receivers so they could activate it?

1. Hi, I guess the receiver on eBay may come with a cracked card or something like that. You may ask the company first as they charge only 4,99$ a month to set it up for the second TV in the house. Go to the link below and there's a FAQ page for Direct TV, it's said there.
