Why don't frames and images display on some sites since I updated my Firefox?

I just updated to Firefox 2.0.0.5 and ever since then a few sites regularly don't display properly - With no frames and in some cases no images either. So far it's only happening on a few sites, like Netscape.com, Foodnetwork.com, "Television Without Pity" and a few others. Before I did the update I didn't have this problem at all. Sites still appear normal in the vast majority of cases. I can't figure out why this is happening and none of the answer sites have helped. It's driving me nuts and I HATE using IE. Can someone help me fix the problem? By the way I have a Dell E520 that's about a year and a half old and I'm running Windows XP Media Center Edition. Thanks! Thanks but before the update the sites looked normal so I don't think it's that the sites aren't made to run in Firefox. They always looked OK before. Why should it change? Note: I already have the latest Flash Player so that's not it.

  1. Ok first thing Windows MCE is really weak. Its more of a Pictures and Video kind-of-thing. This is just my personal thing. Ok, as for firefox, I use it too. I also make professional web sites. It has much to do with the code, and plug ins. I cant not say for certain. But if the graphics are flash-based try running a flash update (this usually fixes this). Or, go to www.mozilla.com or see if there is a plug in to fix this. Fire fox should prompt you with an "install plug-in" message just click it and that element should display after an update... now, the frames thing, thats a touchy area. Its if the person who made that site, used a program to make the site, or just did it all by hand...its all about how "compatible" the site is across other browsers that are not Internet Explorer... I would copy the address into Internet Explorer and see if it works then, maybe something is up with the sites (most likely not) but go for it. Then if they work then you know its a dead-on firefox thing. Or download fire fox right from www.mozilla.com, delete the one you have now, and reinstall that one... and avoid updates like the plague!!! I've been burnt too. Hope that helps.
