Do you thinkn reality tv shows and those alike are getting out of hand?

I was flipping channels and came across The Wknd Edition of the Insider. I happened to watch a few minutes and they were actually reporting on a woman from some show called HHF Housewives or something like it, Sheyla was her name. How she went to Brazil to get a boob job from a Triple F to Triple K and the had a camera on her and she was saying how she has the biggest record now and she can't breathe but she'll do it again..blah blah blah... I was amazed that this was actually a sort of news. I don't watch any reality syndicated show or anything so i just watched that a little and maybe that's what its all about these days...bull crap but I don't know. Is that what reality tv shows are about now? These women actually have fans? Whats with all these housewives shows my friends r talking about? what happened to reporting on celebs, the real celebs and real issues wit them, not that even that would be worth watching but still.. I am at a lost. I feel television has gone down hill for the worst and cannot recover. Nothing educational is on tv anymore...NOTHING! Even magazines are full of bs, who went shopping and what they brought, every now and again I may buy one to look at fashion or see whats going on in their world but it's not even worth it...yes I am sort of ranting in between questions cause I am confused as to when television went off and this bullcrap took its place...whats your thoughts on this? Am i just behind the times and old fashioned at 26 or do you see what I see?
