Looking for that perfect Camcorder...help?

I'm looking for a camcorder that's under $1000, can also take pictures, and can take still shots from video. I would like the camera to be at least 10 mega pixels. I'm looking for something like Sony's High Definition Handycam® Camcorder HDR-CX12. As I love the night shot and smile recognition feature. I was wondering if there's another camcorder out there that is just as good with similar features? Also if it helps I have a mac and use iMovie HD to edit so compatibility is a must. Any ideas on a camcorder thats perfect for me?
