why does comcast have incorrect tv guide?

sometimes when im going through the tv guide on my tv i will find a show that i want to watch but when i click on it a different show is on.

1. Check your time, date and location settings.
2. I have noticed this with Comcast as well as with Mediacom. I think it is either the networks reporting the wrong programming or the nets changing the programming.
3. Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data is provided by a third party; usually this is the Tribune company. Tribune collects the programming grids from all of the stations and networks and then supplies the data to newspapers and PSIP providers. (PSIP is the data stream that produces the EPG on your cable system or over the air DTV channel). Here's the problem, the data has to be into Tribune three weeks ahead of time so that they can compile and distribute it. So, if a change is made after the data is distributed, the program guides, TV listings, etc. may not get updated.
