Does anybody else find it ridiculous that the news is following the Jon and Kate scandal?

I was watching the news when the anchor said that they would be talking about how Jon - from the TV show - may be cheating on Kate. Have they really nothing better to talk about than a bunch of reality TV stars?

1. What's ridiculous is not that the news would talk about it, they're just giving people what they want. What's really ridiculous is that there are so many people who really do want that.

3. Yes I find it ridiculous but no I don't find it surprising. If you can really, really dumb down a population, you can get away with anything.

5. Like in order to make a stupid movie obtain box office sales, one has to incorporate bare breasts and soft porn to attract an audience. And sadly, most people are into celebrity scandals than they are the real world about them.

7. Well, now that the swine flu (sorry, "H1N1") epidemic seems to be winding down, the media needs something salacious to grab people's attention. We are a society of voyeurs who, because of the prevalence of tabloid and shows like TMZ, feel we are entitled to every detail of someones life. Mind you, Jon and Kate put themselves out there for scrutiny when they signed up for the show. Still, this story has no place on major network news.
