When was the first analog television signal introduced?

I heard that broadcasting using analog signals for television started since 1948. Is that the year that the analog was introduced? Or earlier than that?

1. The FCC granted television broadcasts to begin in March of 1941. Just months before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in December. Many tv stations didn't start until 1948.
