can i use a Sony HDR-UX10 High Definition DVD Handycam Camcorder to flim a screenplay?
it is not a professional screenplay it is just a screenplay i wanted to film with my friends with my script. I want to know if this camera will portray professional qualities. i also wanted to know if there is really a big difference from huge cameras that professionals use and a handheld HD camcorder that u can plug in an external mic. i really want to make this screenplay as professional as possable should i get this camera?

- Yes it shouldn't be a problem
- the only problem might be the 15 minute maximum record time. also DVD players with MPEG4 HD codecs built in are quite rare.
- Cinematography is ... well, it's pretty important. The Sony unit is okay for an amateur flick. Here's the thing, though: another part of the equation is the editing. You need to get some editing software that can do crossfades and cuts (keeping in mind that you don't want to go all George Lucas with the changes). If you've got a Mac, you'll already have iMovie in your system (if you don't, get a copy of iLife). If you've got a PC ... I dunno. I use Macs for all my editing.
