Did everyone know that Balloon Boy's family were on the reality tv show Wife Swap?

did everyone already know that they were media-whores who were on a reality show last year and went on tv saying that they believed they were abducted my aliens? How come they never reported that when they were talking about the story yesterday and today all of sudden it's all over the news? Let me rephrase my question: Why didn't the news report that this family was on Wife Swap when the story was in-the-making? I think if they did that people would have realized that this wasn't something to take seriously.

2. Yes. They were on Wife Swap, not once, but TWICE. They are completely idiotic and gross.
3. YEAH! Apparently they were on twice, but I've only seen one episode with them. They're really idiotic and the dad is an a**hole.
4. The news probably didnt realize who they actually were right away. Its not as if they have a sign up on their house saying "Wife Swap" (or do they?)
5. Guess what... if you watch Fox News, they were saying they were on the Wife Swap reality program before the balloon even landed. It was a good 30 minutes before it landed when they were telling this about them. I doubt if CNN or MSNBC are capable of getting info that fast. Most of these other networks are going broke and all the good investigative reporters are over at fox now.
