How do I split 1 direct tv reicever to other tvs?

Is there a way to split the signal from one direct tv reciever to other tvs? Does it just take a coax splitter or what does it take. I am having it installed later on today and want to know for my reference so I can better place the reciever. Is there any complications or drawbacks to splitting? Thank you for your time and help. And DON'T tell me to just pay for another reciever.

  1. with a coax with a splitter ... available at any electronics section ... the only thing is that you will only get the same station on all tv's at the same time
  2. The wire going from the receiver to the TV can be split to as many TVs as you like. The only drawback is that all those TVs will only be on that one channel the one receiver is on.
  3. Not only can you use a coax splitter (I do), depending on the distance, you can run your coax cable from the dish into the receivers input, and use the RCA out (or S-Video) plugs and run those to the nearest TV. Use the coax out to connect to the other TV. Either way, both TVs get the same channel though. Good luck.
