What does it mean when my Direct TV guide says a sports game is "upcoming" on the higher up channels?

They aren't channels I usually get, but for some reason some of the higher up sports channels (in the 700s) say the name of a game that is upcoming-- hours later in the day. Am I able to get those channels when the game actually comes on?

1. Most of those are package channels like Hockey, or NFL and so on. You pay a fixed price for the service and it lets you watch up to 16 or more games being played at different times. Some time the alternate channels will have a game on, upcoming means later in the day. And you have to keep checking back or go out on the cable guide until you find what's playing.
