new video camera high end what card do I need?

my mother just bought a new video camera (really I gifted her one she's one of those mom's who documents everything and has been using a 10 year out of date camera) here's the cam I bought her http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+High-Definition+Camcorder+with+2.7%22+LCD+Monitor+-+Black/9745998.p?id=1218166125484&skuId=9745998 and well she really like it but has been using a 2gb memory card for it. what is the length per gig of hd video on a HD camera. as to I know the right size of cards. what I really want to know is how much recording I get for 1gb at full HD

  1. HD video is about 250-300 megabytes per minute or 13 gigabytes per hour. The Sony HDR-CX110 uses SDHC (Class 4) memory cards. Get two 16GB or one 32MB Class 4 card(s). That way, you'll have extra room and be able to switch the cards as needed. The class number is the write speed. The number will have a circle around it on the front of the card.
