Camcorder Help Needed, Looking for Prosumer Camera?

I am planning on getting my first prosumer camera and am having a hard time deciding on what to buy. I am considering these: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Professional-HVR-A1U-Definition-Camcorder/dp/tech-data/B000ENON1A/ref=de_a_smtd http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HDR-FX7-High-Definition-Handycam-Camcorder/dp/B000IBDWNS/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3I3V8X3HTFIS3&colid=17EXKQWPHD8PE http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-AG-DVX100BP-Proline-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B000BYJFYW/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2DB81I2S90PV3&colid=17EXKQWPHD8PE http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Professional-HVR-A1U-Definition-Camcorder/dp/B000ENON1A/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270668833&sr=1-20 http://www.amazon.com/Canon-XH-A1S-Definition-Professional-Camcorder/dp/B001JQLKRG/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270668833&sr=1-23 I was wondering which one you thought was best. The last one is getting up there in my price range, but i have heard good things about it. I am a little concerned with the size of the lcd though. I would really like 2 xlr inputs and HD video. It must be compatible with a mac, though i believe anyting mini dv is. I don't need best of the best, but i also don't want to feel the need to upgrade anytime soon. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the help. Is there a big difference between Sony HVR-V1U and Sony Professional HVR-A1U? Is one better then the other? 1. You've listed 5 camcorders that vary by price and specifications. You need to compare them side by side and determine for yourself what is most important for what you'll being using it for. I own the Canon XHA1s and I am very pleased with it. Things to consider if important: HDMI port, LANC remote control jack, how much zoom and wide angle of the lens, type and size of the sensors, ability to download custom pre-sets into camera (most do). As far as upgrading, at this time, capturing full-motion uncompressed video to your computer from miniDV tapes is the best way. One of the most important advantages to Mini DV, though, is its capacity for detailed, precise editing. Unlike the footage from DVD, hard drive, flash memory, and memory card camcorders, Mini DV video permits frame by frame edits. So if you plan on lots of editing, and you want your fades and cuts to be pinpoint accurate, Mini DV makes a lot of sense.
  2. As the owner of a Canon GL2, I'm a huge fan of that cinematic look in my videos. If cinematic is what you're after, than the Panasonic AG-DVX100B is a fantastic way to go, thanks to its 24 frames/second capability. This gives it a huge boost on other prosumer camcorders. However, based on your interest in HD video and interest in high-end audio, I'd recommed the Sony HVR-A1U of these selection choices. The HVR-A1U offers amazing high-definition video, and the microphone with which it comes equipped is more accurate than most, giving you crisp, clear sound no matter where you're shooting.
