Why is there a million side effects on those TV Commercials?

The TV Commercials that sell meds for different ailments. Then they list the side effects and try to get through them quickly or sound nice when they say it. This may lead to death, coma, amnesia, vomiting.... Then they tell you it will cure the thing that's wrong with you but then list those.

1. The law requires them to. Every drug has the potential of side effects and the government wants to make sure that patients make an informed choice and aren't led to believe that medication is all sunshine and lollipops with no potential problems.
