Why are people so fascinated by celebrities crying?

I used to regularly visit a blog called OceanUp, and there were always videos called things like "Taylor Swift cries in Vancouver!" ..." Nick Jonas cries during A Little Bit Longer!"..."Is Miley Cyrus Crying?!" and people would like analyze every second of the videos looking desperately for tears...half the time there were none, but they were destined to find them. Recently I've kind of taken up a bit of a Harry Potter infatuation, so I was googling the latest news about the series...apparently Daniel Radcliffe mentioned that he cried on the last day of shooting the final film, and there's hundreds of sites that somehow managed to type up paragraphs dwelling on that one quote.."What made Harry Potter cry?"..."Daniel Radcliffe turns on the waterworks."..."Daniel Radcliffe cries during film shoot"..."Daniel Radcliffe tears up on last day of Harry Potter filming" blah blah blah Why do people care so much?

Public Comments

  1. Because.. we simply like seeing celebrities get emotional just like we do.. it lets us know they're just like us.
  2. Because it gives people the real sense that celebrities are human beings just like us. Sounds silly, but it's true.
  3. I don't think they do I never would think of looking up such things. Perhaps you enjoy this more than you know. Why would anyone enjoy seeing someone sad and in pain. unless its tears of joy.
