How do you convert a tv to high definition?
I just bought a tv that is hd compatible and I was wondering what I have to buy in order to make it converted into high definition. Is there some type of cables or something?

- Some older model HD "compatible" TVs are really just High Definition MONITORS. You'll probably need a HD tuner to capture the broadcast signals from the air and converts them to be displayed on the HD TV or a HD cable box that does the same for the cable signal. You can also use the HDTV with a compatible DVD player if it has the right output ports and your TV had the right input ports.
- Since it is HD compatible or capable, you will need a HD tuner. If you have this TV connected to a cable box you received from your cable company then you would need to make sure that box has the HDTV tuner and you have subscribed to high-def channels (usually an extra). You would also need and HDMI or a Componet Video cable.. Only you can determine this by looking at the back of your cable box and tv. There is a good book that explains everything about HDTV called HDTV Simplified. You can get it at http://www.HDTV-Simplified.com . Good Luck!
